Another year, another draft thread.

I signed up last year because I really wanted to see what the Panthers were going to do in the draft. Thats when I found Verge on here. He and his source are legit! All I remember was how he kept saying the Panthers were super high on Greg Little and would even have considered him at 16. I thought he was crazy because I wasn't high on Little at all, but next thing you know we trade up and select him in the second. I trust anything he says after that day because he was completey correct and his source was extremely credible.

Wirfs is good, it's just a matter of are you okay skipping out on guys like Thomas, Bechton, Jackson, and Willis who can all play LT, where as Wirfs is either a RT or a guard.

We were both very high on Daniel Jones, dude is a stud.

This is interesting. I read Daniel Jeremiah talking about how he saw Wirfs as IOL not T, he was surprisingly down on him. A lot of  mocks have him as this concensus elite tackle. I wonder how it will play out, but it's interesting that you agree with  DJ.

Wirfs played LT in around 4 games this year and didnt look any worse at LT as he did RT

-This is an elite tackle class, one of the best in years, there will be 6-7 tackles taken in the first round, and it would not shock me if 5 of them go in the top 15. WOW.  5 OTs in top 15--Wills, Thomas, Wirfs, Kid from Lousiville--I see it.

-This QB class is comparable to the Baker Mayfield class, Burrow, Tua, and Herbert are all legit QBs.  They are--all need the right system.

-The WR class is also elite, but is also deeper than every other class here, which may lead to WRs dropping later than expected because teams feel like you can go get an elite lineman and swing back into the 2nd/3rd and still get WR help. I would guess five WRS go in the first round Jeudy, Lamb, Shenault, Jefferson and Ruggs, but that could change depending on how the board falls. I have nine WRs with a first round grade.  YEP--started a thread about it.  What you say also could mean that a player like Ruggs is sitting there in round 2....

-Javon Kinlaw is a guy who could push Derick Brown for the top interior defensive lineman, think Ed Oliver v Quinnen Williams of the last year, it's a lot closer than people realize.

Kinlaw probably can't hold his gap as well as brown, but his motor is crazy.  Oliver is the right comparison.

I like Blalock a lot.  He is my second round preference if we go OT or QB or CB in the first.  Thanks for this.

So Verge, Im assuming you don't think Delpit or McKinney will make it to us in the second like Matt Miller keeps saying? (He thinks Delpit actually goes past us in the second.) Curious what your guy thinks about him.

Nah, I don't think either of them will drop that far, but this is a very deep class so I guess it could happen.

Just watched some videos on Kinlaw. Yes, he’s my top DT, I’d be happier with him at 7 than Brown (who I’d be ok with). Kinlaw reminds me of a quicker Brockers. 310-315 and no apparent fat and a six pack?  He’ll hold up better in the pros with that physique too, rather than a guy that’s soft around the middle like Brown and most DTs.  If we can’t get an elite LT prospect at 7, Kinlaw is my guy.

I think Brown is the safer pick but I think Kinlaw may have the higher upside. I wouldn't be mad about either.
