Benefit of having Brady is his inside knowledge of LSU players, both offense and defense.  Rhule has mentioned several times of his preference for directly knowing players.  Wouldn’t be surprised if Rhule would take or stay away from Delpit based substantially on Brady’s recommendation.

It was proven long, long ago (in the 1960's) when you play the best of college players against an NFL team, the college players LOSE.

If Rhule and Brady have plans to implace the Carolina roster with LSU and Baylor/Temple players and win in the NFL?

Good fuggin' luck, my friend.

Wonder what Brady thinks of Derrick Brown.  He was a wrecking crew against LSU last year.

Cam Dantzler or Grant Delpit in the 2nd?

I wouldn’t trust those pro day times. One of Delpit’s weakness is average range. If you run a 4.38, you don’t have average range. If you don’t run at the combine when you have 4.38 speed, it’s because you don’t have that speed.

Here’s a great example to remind everyone:

Funchess Combine: 4.70

Funchess Pro-Day: 4.47

So Funchess at his pro day was almost as fast as these guys. If Delpit has average range, he’s not a 4.38 guy, he’s a combine 4.5-4.6 guy. Justin Reid fell to the top of the 3rd two years ago, Delpit for us is 69, but honestly will he be better than what we have? If we take him at 38, he doesn’t improve our team.

Yup, as much as I like this safety class, I wouldn't take one before round 3.  I'm not a huge fan of Delpit.  We are going to miss out on Winfield Jr, Chinn and possibly Dugger by waiting to the the 3rd, but I really can't justify it any earlier.  Chinn would be super tempting in the 2nd though.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano believes the Giants "lean towards" an offensive tackle over Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons with the No. 4 overall pick.

Vacchiano also reports that GM Dave Gettleman is "definitely interested" in trading down -- something he's never done before as a shot caller -- but there's doubt that a trade market exists for that pick with the Lions (No. 3) also a trade down candidate. For now, it's more likely that the Giants stay put and take the best player available. Assuming Chase Young and Jeffrey Okudah are off the board, most believe that will be Simmons, DT Derrick Brown, or one of the consensus top-4 offensive tackles. It's unclear how the Giants rank this loaded offensive tackle class, but Daniel Jones should be happy with any of them

That counts.  Between Brady and Rhule, they saw some good DTs.  Auburn, S.Car, Tex AM, TCU, Missouri, Oklahoma---SEC and Big 12 is where they are...

Until Simmons got to be a trendy choice for the Giants recently, for weeks many mocks had the G-men taking an OT.

I think they have to go OT...Gettlemen drafted Jones and needs to reduce the number of fumbles and sacks.  Simmons will be on the board when we pick.  mark my words typography GIF by LINDA VAN BRUGGEN
