the NFL doesn't work this way, ever and trying to argue that it does is beneath you.

"oh wow boys we got a shot a franchise QB, if only we had somebody to really anchor that LG spot, shame on us, gotta pull the trigger I'm afraid, HOG MOLLIES wins super bowls, I mean okay, not really, but it sounds smart to say."

No team has ever put off drafting a QB because of something as negligible as the offensive line lol.

"they would if the QB class was bad!"

I won't insult you anymore for feeling this way but literally nobody of consequence agrees with you.

"as negligible as the offensive line"

Lol ok....

That’s odd because any reasonable definition of “anybody of consequence” would have to include actual NFL teams, right?

If the NFL considers offensive linemen so neglible, can you explain why spottrac is currently reporting left tackle as the single highest average paid non Qb position ? Left tackles consistently get paid more than any other position on average except qb.

If the NFL doesn’t “work that way”, why would it pay that way? Is your argument that 32 GM’s are consistently and collectively failing to pay their players in a way reflective of their importance?

Bpa won't be a QB with the 7th pick. I don't think it makes sense regardless of what happens to Cam. I doubt anyone in the front office expects to win the Super Bowl next year. So if they are going to be patient, then accumulate talent over the next few years by drafting bpa.

Exactly what I was gonna' say. Drafting in the 1st round should always be BPA.

he Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue and Joseph Person gave 50% and 15% odds that Cam Newton has played his last snap for the Panthers.

The fact that they are split on how likely the new Panthers coaching staff is to move on from Newton goes to show how wide open this offseason is. The Panthers reportedly want to see Newton (Lisfranc) work out on the field in March before weighing their options. They could let Newton play out the final year of his contract or look to trade him. By trading him or releasing him, the Panthers would save $19.1 million in cap space.

Hey everyone! Even though there are elite choices available at key positions that just happen to be incredible areas of need, let's reach for a QB in a weak class and set up who will most likely be a average game manager at the top of his game up for failure by putting him behind a wall of marshmallow fluff....because franchise QB.

Makes sense.
