Everyone's like he wouldn't do that except for tons of money. Really, what would YOU do for $100,000? 

Yeah, if the Redskins offer a couple of million, a chance to play with his old coaches and a shot at padding the stats for his career, he might just do it.

And never underestimate the power of loyalty and how bad someone can get pissed off after their buddy gets fired.

Whatever Greg does, though, he's still one of the good guys and one of the great players. And for all we know, the Panthers gave him the option to retire here as a Panther before the start of the season and he said he'd take resigning and hopefully re-signing somewhere else. The guy still has a lot more to offer than most TEs in the game today.

The question we have to ask ourselves is who will make it back to the Superb Owl first, the Panthers or Rivera?

Both are starting at the bottom of the barrel and it is a long climb. Rivera has experience and multiple trips as player and coach. The Panthers are trying a new, but inexperienced NFL coach. That is going to be a helluva a contest and the early money would have to be on Rivera.

He could be making a push for the hall of fame with a late career explosion. He probably won't go in even with that, but first step would be to go to a team that makes him THE man. Redskins would fit.

Realistically though, is it that big of a stretch?

How many of the teams that would be considered legitimate contenders for a Superbowl next year would actually have a need for him?

Just vets, knowing they’ll have job security and don’t have to worry about good, young talent ever taking over.  You’ll never see young talent follow a coach like Rivera. Not sure that’s competent.

Greg’s just finding some farewell check. He siphoned the Panthers just like Kalil and is moving on to the next team until he can’t anymore. I don’t blame him but I’m also not too stupid to see what he’s doing/has done.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Rivera signed a vet QB like Rivers and let Haskins sit and develop. Ron’s comments about Haskins was not a glowing endorsement once he signed. They do have cap and if they draft Young at DE, add a few pieces through free agency, and get Trent Williams back, they could compete in that division.

Ron and his vets taking over DC hahahahaha! Ron and RV will start a one legged Alex Smith over Dwayne Haskins! They'll draft Chase Young and wes horton will get more playing time then him! Chase Young will be the highest paid special teams gunner in NFL history hahahaha! Ron will let Brandon Scherff walk into free agency and then hell replace him with Amini Silatolu baby hahaha!
