Cam returns, so no QB in this draft.

This bolsters the secondary, particularly if Bradberry leaves. Even if Derrick Brown is selected, the Panthers will still need to sign a DL in free agency and probably an Edge, as well. Delpit is going to be a stud. They'll also need to find a TE.

Charles is selected not to be a tackle, but to move inside to OG.

Edwards is interesting, if not a bit raw and Evans was pretty good at App State. He'd have to play special teams and be decent at returns to stick to the roster.

I love ILB Simmons in the 1st round but wouldn't be disappointed with DT Brown either. From there it's a crap shoot, By a C/G and a S/DB to fill out the 1st 4 rounds. A TE too.

I also think they might trade back and get a few extra high picks, we have a lot of needs and won't get many FA's to sign for a rebuild. Thats the Patriot way, get lots of picks and build.

No way Grant Delpin is available in the 2nd. I'd love to have him though.

It wouldn’t surprise me. Safeties aren’t highly valued. Remember Justin Reid two years ago? He had a chance to be a late first rounder and had a great combine. He went in the 3rd. Derwin James was a much better prospect than Delpit and he went late teens. It doesn’t take much for safeties to drop. If Delpit doesn’t run great or look solid in coverage, he could easily drop to the 2nd.

Here is a mock from cbssports. It's one of the few players i would not really want. I am posting more than the panthers because it is kind of off the wall.

A year ago, the Redskins added Montez Sweat in the first round at No. 26 overall. It was great value. They give him a running mate a year later. Young is the top prospect overall and a terror for opposing offensive lines.

Detroit is an interesting team early in the draft. They could trade the pick to a team looking to trade up for a quarterback or could take the best player on their board. Simmons is a defensive chess piece that will elevate everyone's play.

New York probably needs two offensive tackles but they have only one pick. They take Wills and can address the other spot later in the draft.

The season began with 'Tank for Tua.' Miami did not tank and, instead, exceeded expectations. They still land their potential quarterback of the future at No. 5 overall. Teams may be looking to move up in the draft order to secure Tagovailoa.

Brown does not play offensive tackle or quarterback -- both of which are expected to be in high demand early -- but few question that he is one of the five best players available regardless of position. L.A. rides with Tyrod Taylor for a year and snags Brown to enhance the team's defense.

Justin Herbert grew accustomed to throwing screens in Eugene this season, so he will be comfortable getting Christian McCaffrey the ball out of the backfield. He can also push it downfield to D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel.

The rise of quarterbacks and offensive tackles push an elite prospect like Okudah down. Jacksonville happily accepts their answer to the loss of Jalen Ramsey. Okudah is the top cornerback prospect by a wide margin.

Becton moves really well for his size. There are areas of his game that will require some work, but few prospects come without flaws. Cleveland is in an enviable position to take either Andrew Thomas or Becton. Either way, they land a long-term solution on one book end.

I drew the comparison between Patrick Mahomes and Jordan Love in a recent mock and it has become quite popular since. Love has to make better decisions with the football but he has rare arm talent similar to Mahomes. Indianapolis has one year left on Jacoby Brissett's deal if they need a bridge year to ease their rookie into the offense.

Tampa Bay was starting to sweat as the run on offensive tackles occurred but Wirfs falls happily into their laps. Now, questions remain at the quarterback position.

1. I decided to go with Thomas, the best LT in the draft, and let him compete with Little for the LT job.  I fully expect Little to move inside to LG--Long term? With Moton in a contract year and Williams no longer depth, we need options at LT.  Daley to work behind Moton at RT, where his skill set should be better.  We have depth at T at 2 spots, and both reserve Tackles can compete for the G job.

2.  I am assuming that Tre Boston is not signed because he has been tough to sign lately.  I am assuming they do sign Bradberry, because he seems to be their priority.  If that is the case, you take the S from LSU here-an instant starter and upgrade.  I wanted a DT, but there was no value.

3.  Lawrence is a solid yet not spectacular DT who will get shots early-while I am not in love with this pick, it is a need selection.

4.  I am in love with this pick, however.  Biadasz will start, possibly as a rookie.  This pick made this mock special.

5.  And this pick made this mock extra special.  A stud WR in the fifth.  Schwing.

6. THE Lamar Jackson is a tall zone CB.  Tackles well.  A bit of a sleeper, with upside.

7.  James Lynch is a Baylor product that the coaching staff loved.  High motor, big body.  If he is there in the seventh round, Ruhl will be choking Hurney for passing on him.  A Big DE (280) who led Baylor in sacks (career) with 22--could be a Hardy-type steal, even though they are totally different players.

I think we have a good shot to get Tre back. Every time he hits free agency he finds out that there's a massive gulf between what he thinks he's worth and what NFL teams think he's worth. He'll go out looking for his big pay day and when he doesn't find it we may be the best offer on the table.

He probably realizes that waiting after the draft is not his best negotiating tactic.  Boston in the $3-4m range is as high as I would go.  He played for $2m this year, so it would be a big increase.

Seems like when Boston hits FA he doesn't sign until camp. Maybe waiting for an injury or something to create a better market for him.

    • Man whether it's the Panthers or the Hornets it's crazy how many foolish talking heads there are in the local media. I just unsubscribed from locked on Hornets. Doug Branson with his cheesy mustache is an absolute clown especially when his partner isn't on. Talking about trading LaMelo because he can't win basketball games by himself with no semblance whatsoever of a legitimate Center. These YouTube personalities will say anything for a damn click.
    • I’m hoping for that exact same scenario, two seconds would be big for us. I’d hope for 3 impact players. A WR/DL/DE that can contribute like this current class would be key to our rebuild.
    • When I look at what I can find, a carryover problem from last season is our receivers are still unable to get enough separation on a consistent basis. Canales is certainly better at scheming them open, like how he sneaked out Thielen for a big play. But then he's also having Thielen running routes he frankly shouldn't be doing anymore. I feel part of the RZ issues is not really having anyone - after trading Diontae - who can make those quick cuts on a short field to give whoever is under center a wider window to throw. We also only have one guy with blazing speed in Thompkins and from what I could see, he's really used more to draw away coverage. I bring this all up because what Canales needs for sustained success - other than QB - is the other receiver pieces we'll be getting in the offseason.  Otherwise, I have to say that Canales isn't as afraid to be aggressive offensively. As others mentioned, still doesn't run the ball enough at times. Finally, I still feel his playcalls still doesn't line up with his mantra of getting rid of the ball within x amount of seconds. Maybe I count too slow. Oh, and I'm glad Canales first game after a bye looked good. I feared he'd be like Ron Rivera where we would fall flat on our faces.
