Do you take Cam for a fool?  Your fool in particular?  He is a business man and an athlete.  Nobody in his right mind would buy into the "hometown discount" stuff, especially when living in Atlanta.  Stuff like that is generally said when they are trying to use leverage one way or the other.

At the end of the day, I don't think we will get to the hometown discount situation anyway.  Maybe I am wrong and Cams shoulder, scar tissue, arthritis, etc, will work differently in his body than it does in others bodies.  But odds are not in his favor.  I will be happy for him is he does because it would be pretty miraculous.  But it won't be because I was a good or bad fan.

Was Cam a fool when he took a team friendly deal when he was 26 coming off an MVP and SB appearance? That showed us the kind of person Cam is. If he wanted to be the top paid quarterback and get all the money he possibly could have, he would have. That was the perfect time because he had ALL of the leverage. He wants to be paid in the top 7-10. He doesn't need top 5 money. Again it's never been about the money for Cam. Want to know how I know that? Well he proved it by the above example. Why do you think he'd want to be the highest paid or even top 3? He understands you need a good team to win championships and championships is what he wants. Brady does the same thing literally every few years.

Do we even need 11 on offense?  I am thinking maybe 8

That’s a good call. Maybe they will let us swap out players from our defense for extra wide outs? 6 wide? 7 wide?  With good Ol shot-put Newton back there laboring the ball no more that 15 yds at a clip, we ought to carving defenses up at will.

No, because Cam playing elsewhere when he's 30 years old is asinine. It's completely unrealistic to suggest Cam not being here. Completely unrealistic.

I hope you’re right. I BELIEVE you’re right. But completely unrealistic? Not at all. It’s still a very real possibility. This may come back to haunt you.

I know, they cannot understand things like 30 years old, bad/good shoulder?, last year of the contract.  Like they have never watched any sports

I’m not a Cam fan. I am a Panthers fan. However, if Cam is healthy he is borderline elite QB. That’s hard to replace. He very well may have five great seasons left in him. Plenty of time to find his replacement and win a super bowl or three with him. I don’t know why that’s so bad. Even if the team sucks, if Cam looks healthy/great this coming season, you extend him and continue to build around him and his eventual successor. I don’t see why that’s such a bad thing.

Your timeline is off. He signed his current deal the offseason before the 2015 season. So he wasn't an MVP with a super bowl appearance when he signed this deal.

This thread could come back to haunt the OP

Very much looking forward to that day.  Not because I’m excited to see Cam go. Only for the sheer pleasure of watching 30% of this place melt down and trade in their apparel for Cam’s next team.

The mods really need to start cleaning this up.

If someone said this about Luke or CMC fans it would rightfully be met with significant pushback.

Try reading the post in its entirety. This ain’t about Cam. It’s about some of the Huddle. Quit reaching.

Ridding this team of Cam would be a big enough gaff that I'd stop supporting the NFL entirely, first of all.

And second of all .. Cam is going to be a Panther for years to come. When he retires, he will have set the bar here so high, that any future Panthers QB will have no chance to be more of a superstar than Cam was.

What we're watching is the best Panther that will ever suit up for us, in Cam. Recognize.
