Cam Newton: Foot injury a “blessing” for his shoulder.

Bradberry isn't gone yet. We may not have to pickup two OL. Maybe Little and/or Daley can actually develop into something.

We aren't going to neglect the defense. We'll add defensive pieces.

I guess I'm just not looking for the nearest bridge from which to swan dive, that's all.

Im more worried about the interior than the tackles.  Maybe a good LG would go a long way

No old man, she’ll of his former self Olsen, but plenty of CMC, DJ Moore and Curtis Samuel in their primes. Not to mention whomever we draft or sign in the off-season.

I LOVE Greg Olsen, but honestly at this point in their respective careers, I truly think that Ian Thomas is the more dynamic TE. I hate seeing Greg go, but it was time.

Not a bean counter, anymore at least, but lets go with your scenario.

Pick up 2 OL in FA.  So easy right?  Neglect the defense which was already terrible and now Luke and Bradberry are gone.

So Cam Newton, with his questionable shoulder is going to have to score 40 per game to get a win.

Yep, that one don't figure

Lets go with your scenario.  And I will use the same amount of pessimistic future telling you did.

We trade Cam Newton.  Draft 2 guys with those picks.  Neither works out.  We are in even worse position than we were before.

For a person that claims to rely on numbers, you entire premise is based on "feels".

Agreed on Greg, but he was the target Cam looked to, point is, will Ian instantly fill his shoes.  I am actually excited about Ian, I think he is a hell of an athlete

In 2021, odds are we wont' have Cam.  What choice are you going to make, put all your eggs in the 2020 season or start the rebuild?

Nothing in feels.  I said we should trade Cam and Luke back in December.  Why, because at the time, they might both have value.

Have you guys NEVER been part of sports where you trade a top guy to get other pcs of the puzzle?  You all are so touchy when people suggest your favorite player is getting old.  There are other jerseys guys

You keep saying you are a numbers guy, not making a decision by "feels".  Yet you never explain how you come to these "odds".  You are making a decision based on "feels" then just re-naming it "odds" and pretending like you are smart.

30 is not old.  I am not touchy about the possibility of Cam being traded.  If it happens, it happens.  I am merely calling you out for doing the exact thing you are pretending not to do.

None of your statements are based on numbers, odds, statistics.  Statistically, top tier QBs don't get traded or walk.

You keep talking about odds but I have no idea what you're basing them on. If Cam plays well and stays healthy, I'd say the odds are that he IS here in '21. There's a reason why legit franchise QBs almost never see free agency.

calling something odds, does not make anyone smart, agreed.

It's like when we drafted Cam as the number one pick.  I did not want to draft a QB as a number one, odds.  There are like 2 QB's, Aiman and Peyton, that have turned out to be really good and that is from the 60's until today.  It did not mean I was racist (I wanted Marcel Dareus) or old or whatever the hell else logic floated around here.  I am also in favor of trading down about 80% of the time.  Sort of a Belecik type logic.  The more picks you have, the better the odds of getting new guys to stick.  No feels, just going by the numbers.

Bottom line, more luck is needed in the keep Cam and we will be great scenario than the trade Cam and pick up add'l players scenario.  Again, might not work, just a football opinion

IF Cam plays well

IF Cam stays healthy

IF Cam get get a huge contract

Those are your odds, if you had to bet your own money....
