Who says we don't re-sign him if he plays well and remains healthy?

I get it, you have a total hard on to blow the whole thing up and try to suck harder than any team has ever sucked before this coming season, but I doubt there are many in the Panthers' organization who agree with that concept. We're not going to make knee-jerk decisions in a desperate attempt to contend next year, but I think we're going to try to put the best team on the field that we can while making (hopefully) smart decisions for the future. That's what every team should be doing. Knee-jerk desperation decisions rarely work out anyway.

Ok.  What are the odds.  In numbers.  That he walks.  And what are you basing those numbers on?  I would like to know the scientific process that used no "feels" to decide these numbers.

I've seen bean counters tank lots of companies by making decisions solely off of what works well in a spreadsheet.

It would be better to trade Cam if all the reports continue to be good.

At this point, even a healthy Cam won't be that way for long and cannot win with a terrible Oline, Dline, etc.  The Panthers should let him go somewhere that he has a chance of seeing playoffs right away.  He is not going to play another 10 years in the league.

Before going into full QB search mode looking four our next good to great QB which can be a brutal stretch trying to achieve....I’ll take a season to see what we have with Cam.  Worse case scenario is the Panthers are right where they are and we’re drafting a QB after next season. Best case is we have our good to great QB and I then think if that happens the Panthers can build a team in a decent time frame with him part of it.  It’s not going to take ten years.  It can be done much sooner.  

Of course nothing we can do to see who’s right.  Only time will tell.

Not a bean counter, anymore at least, but lets go with your scenario.

Pick up 2 OL in FA.  So easy right?  Neglect the defense which was already terrible and now Luke and Bradberry are gone.

So Cam Newton, with his questionable shoulder is going to have to score 40 per game to get a win.

Bradberry isn't gone yet. We may not have to pickup two OL. Maybe Little and/or Daley can actually develop into something.

We aren't going to neglect the defense. We'll add defensive pieces.

I guess I'm just not looking for the nearest bridge from which to swan dive, that's all.
