Shout to the real ones that never lost faith. Even with the droves of haters and racists that have been begging for cam to be traded

So if you think it is in the best interest of a building effort to move on from a QB that has been hit many more times than any other QB in the NFL and lost his deep ball, has had 3 surgeries in as many years, has spent the majority of his "bargain" $20m per year contract unable to play effectively--is a racist, then you are not doing race relations any service.  People who shout "racism" when there is none--when they assume any time they don't get their way is due to race---they actually are the racists--you know that, right?  So stop trying to think for others--real hater--and start thinking period.  Sure--there are racists on both sides--there are people who want Cam here because he is black.  There are probably fans of a league that is 70% black who might be skinheads who want a white QB.  What I know is this---you do not know what motivates someone else, so name calling and finger pointing about race without evidence is one of the best ways to identify a racist.  Skin color really does not matter to many people, and for those who think it is an issue that underlies every opinion of others is a damn idiot--I don't care what color you are.   So stop trying to profile everyone who disagrees with you, hater.

it’s because he absolutely can read a defense so when you try to suggest otherwise people are giving you credit by assuming you’re a disingenuous racist instead of just brain dead

Is this the ol' "I can't defend my position with facts but I know I am right so I will make it a black and white (not gray) issue and attack the person behind ideas that do not coincide with my blanket statement" defense?"

He can read a defense, but reading is not "he can" he can't" it is "can he read fast enough and effectively?"--many running QBs cannot because they have always had an outlet. His offense at Auburn did not require him to read through a complex set of progressions (most don't), so when he came into the league, he was behind.  His arm strength allows him to wait longer for a route to open, and his legs offered his #1 checkdown--running.  These 2 skills have always been his advantages, along with his size.  In that regard, Cam has probably held the ball too long and thrown after positioning himself to run--instinctively--and the improvising that coincides with looking for the big play may have frozen him at times.  Cam is a gamer, a big play QB, and that has been his MO since pee wees.  A QB without those options is often better in a system that is synchronized without any improvising.  They must learn to anticipate when reading a defense, throwing the ball earlier than Cam wound, because they do not have the arm strength or the legs to survive a missed opportunity.  I have watched end zone footage of Brady, Brees, Manning, and even some old school Randall Cunningham after he left Philly---and they all released the ball before the WR break (in most cases).  Cam, early Big Ben, and Mike Vick, for example, released the ball after the WR cut (during the first step).  That subtle difference is what people mean, I think.  It is not about race.

The best example I have seen is Randall Cunningham.  With the Eagles, he was late throwing the ball.  Waited for the WR to get open and then tried to force a pass into a closing window.  He would run when it got complex.  With Minnesota, he was a different QB.  They (and age) took away the run and he became a better QB than he was in his prime.

When you HAVE to throw the ball or get sacked, you don't have the bail out option of running.  That keeps your mind on 1 thing, your feet square, and your timing synchronous.

It is not racism.

this is a big part of the issue.  well it doesn't affect me so its not an issue.      when white babies are getting separated from their parents and lost and sold into god knows what horrors - it'll suddenly be an issue worth facing.

that said cam can read defenses and i still hope we can move on.  and anyone using facebook is an idiot

Then I assume you are not voting for the abortionist left who has no problem seeing 50% of black babies murdered before they even have a chance.

Not trying to be a smart azz but do you mean the 2015 MVP Cam or the Cam that has lost his last eight (8) games?

Isn't this usually the kind of remark we see from rival fans, not our own fans? Really drives home how much some people despise #1.

Maybe on this forum, sometimes people are just talking about football, with no other agendas at stake.

God, I hate it when the Tinderbox spills over and makes a mess of everything.

Oh there are agendas.

It's why Cam Newton is forever 0-8 but CMC is a lock for the hall of fame because he got 1k/1k in a season where we...wait for it... finished on an 8 game losing streak.

No added light, just heat. Can't praise or defend one without slamming another. There's got to be a better way.

Hey I agree with u on the CMC thing but damn what did Cam do when he was healthy nothing, 0 wins. It don't matter if Cam is 100 percent healthy this is not a .500 team. This roster is horrendous and you can thank Marty Hurney the greatest talent evaluator for that.

There is. Talk down the idiots and get down to what matters. We win and lose as a team. If you are a fan who is tired of watching the franchise get rekt by the rest of our division, you know we need a viable quarterback holding it together to be even halfway presentable.

Maybe we need a different subforum for the tanking crowd honestly.

Think

It would be better to trade Cam if all the reports continue to be good.

At this point, even a healthy Cam won't be that way for long and cannot win with a terrible Oline, Dline, etc.  The Panthers should let him go somewhere that he has a chance of seeing playoffs right away.  He is not going to play another 10 years in the league.
