- A team source tells ESPN: "They want to at least give him a shot, see where he's at, then we'll see what happens"

Makes sense. After all this time if his shoulder gets inflamed and shows the same symptoms of years past they will have to make a decision.

What I was thinking. This also allows them to build the OL and D before bringing in a QB.  I am a bit surprised, but this is the smart move. It gives you options.  Teams do that backwards.  He said his shoulder feels good, but after a long rest, it should.  Will it withstand the grind?  Hoping so.  This makes my mocks a lot easier, and I was worried that we might be tempted to draft Herbert.

A lot could change, but while this allows some to celebrate, I doubt the plan for Cam extends into a new contract.   A year with Cam fighting for a third contract here or somewhere else could be fun. 

For those who think they are building around Cam....there is nothing to suggest it and it would be stupid-based on what we know now.
