Jourdan Rodrigue says Hurney is "seriously respected in many football circles"

Funny that Jordan is a highly respected source until she says something the huddle doesn't like then suddenly she doesn't have perspective and is too close to the team.  It couldn't be she is right and Marty is actually respected this time around.

Misplacing respect for Hurney as a person instead of football ability is the key.

Again just maybe she is more plugged into football than you and she is reporting the truth. Since Hurney came back he has done well and is highly respected in football circles. It doesn't have to be misplaced anything.

1) No other owner would pick him up when he was fired in any capacity. That doesn’t look like he was respected for his football acuity.

2) Hurney is 12 and 20 since he was officially named GM again and built the roster. That’s not “has done well”.

3) He’s decimated the roster. We can’t even field defense literally right now.

You don't know any of that. He wasn't picked up in 2011 but now is different. And he has built a roster that the coaches didn't maximize which is why they are all gone and he isnt. But stick to the topic instead of your take which is irrelevant. Jordan said he was highly respected. You have any actual football sources which says she is wrong or is this your opinion? Yeah I thought so......

Yeah this isn't an opinion piece. She is reporting what sources are telling her.

12-20 since being in the control seat. 3 winning seasons in his entire career as a GM.

He can be respected as a person & non-football side of the team and it’s abundantly clear he is. But when it comes to the inner circles of football, it’s obviously clear he wouldn’t get a job anywhere else and that tells you all you need to know.

Again stick to the topic. This isn't about opinion this is what she is reporting she has heard around the league and she says he is highly respected which suggests you are wrong and he could very well be picked up if we move on. What is obvious is that your opinion apparently isn't shared by insiders who she does have access to and which she just reported. Arguing with me won't change the reality which is what she is reporting.  Oh but maybe this is all fake news

    • You go after my guy with nonsense like "I don't see quickness or explosiveness" and "I haven't seen a lot of quickness or full route tree ability that we always ignore" Then yea, I'm gonna punch back. Like I've said, if people want to draft someone else, that's totally fine, everyone has their own opinions.  But if you're going to advocate against a specific player, don't talk complete nonsense about their game like this. Even more so, don't do that when you're saying I'm the one with a bias towards him. If I was afraid of it looking like a bias pick on my part, I'd never have said I was an Arizona alumni when arguing for him, but I've admitted it from the very beginning, because I don't think my Arizona connection gives me a bias, it just means I know his game REALLY well as I've seen every snap of his college career.  So yea, you start saying the knocks on him are things that he's actually really good at, then you're going to get an earful from me with some video evidence to back it up. In the end, for me, it all falls back to how rare a player like T-Mac can be due to his size.  The smaller speedier type of WRs are exactly who you can find in later rounds and who become available as Free Agents, I can't ever get on board with taking a Hunter (as a WR) or Burden over T-Mac if all were on the board, for that reason alone, and I'd say that if he was a freaking Sun Devil, no matter how much it would hurt me to admit if it if that were the case.
