2020 wont suck that bad.

I'd rather not watched another season of Kyle Allen starting again.. If we cut Cam bring in Marriota,  or Bridgewater on a cheap deal  and draft Love have a competition.. Don't put your Hope's in a tank idea.. That ends up not working and you end up wasting another year without a QB..

Whether or not we "suck that bad" depends the division around us. If the Bucs land a decent QB after Jameis they are going to be contenders. The Falcons also have plenty of talent. The Saints despite how much we despise them are also still fairly stacked roster wise. Definite possibility we could remain in the cellar of the division until 2021 or 2022.

Will still be fun watching CMC, Moore, and other young guys unless our best players have "mysterious" injuries that sideline them for awhile.

But honestly I'd rather watch an exciting losing team with a rebuilding direction and new hope, than the once decent team who blows leads, play with their tails tucked between their legs, and continue to be the neutered versions of the Panthers we watched under Rivera the last few years.

Not sure we go 2-14 or 1-15 yet (I wish, I'm a big contender or bust advocate) But Cam leaving inevitably will leave 21 million in cap space. We draft LT at #7 and spend the other 20 million saved on Cam on a offensive line boost, this team very well might win 7-8 games. We can't field a decent offensive line while paying Cam 13 million under market, what makes you think It's going to happen if he's making market?

I said it before and I'll say it again, Kyle Allen with a offensive line that gives 5-6 seconds to throw the ball is better then Cam Newton with 2-4. If Cam was 500k like KA, then by all means he's better, but Ron is not the one who didn't fix the offensive line, he schemed the best he could to make up for it. Sure glad we have Vernon Butler though!

If we're going to do this right, we need to trade CMC, Bengals might listen to trade involving Cam and CMC, but you never know.

I'm not saying I agree with it 100% but I think trading CMC needs to be on the table.  Crazy to even think about it given he's a generational talent, grade A guy on and off the field, leader on the field, stud pass catcher/route runner etc.  I think purely from a analytical standpoint, huge running back contracts are batting zero and hamstringing teams/salary caps.  Both Super Bowl teams have yard sale running backs so it's not a necessity to be successful- arguably the most expendable position on the field.

On the other hand, maybe he's the cornerstone of the rebuild and we start and build around him? Thoughts?

It sucks to have to ponder such a possibility, but this is absolutely true. What purpose does it serve to keep him here through his most productive years in a rebuild? By the time we are competitive again he will be commanding a substantial payday, and the simple fact of the matter is you cannot make a running back the face of your franchise and expect to win very much. If you can get significant returns for him that can be used to acquire a franchise quarterback you make the move.

What purpose? So the stadium will have at least a few Panthers fans in it. Who’s gonna go on the posters and ads? Curtis Samuel? Shaq Thompson?

”Fans, come see stars like GREG LITTLE, EFE OBADA, REGGIE BONNAFON and CURTIS SAMUEL as they take on 2020! GET YOUR TICKETS NOW” *GRROWWL*

On the other hand, a QB-RB combo of Kyle Allen and Reggie Bonnafon would definitely get you 0-16 and save tens of thousands of people the trouble of following the team for a whole season. Just make the draft party the biggest event since most of the Huddle loves Draft Capital above any player. .

I'm going to have to risk hurting some precious feefees here and say I am unequivocally sick of reading the same regurgitated takes from self described "realists" that want to move on from a franchise QB at all costs but have no problem with the idea of paying a running back to be the face of the franchise because he happens to be white. All this in the midst of a rebuild.

We need a quarterback.
