This has no bearing on weather Cam stays or goes....Olsen was much older with a much too high cap hit...common guys. Until I see Cam gone I wont believe we are completely detonating everything.

In a joint statement, the Panthers and Greg Olsen announced they have agreed to "mutually part ways."

The Panthers can't officially release Olsen until after the Super Bowl, but his nine seasons in Carolina are through. Provided he is cut instead of traded, the move will save the Panthers $8.1 million against the cap. It is impossible to see anyone taking on soon-to-be 35-year-old Olsen's $6.6 million salary. For now, Olsen is not retiring, though he has made it abundantly clear to the Panthers' press corps that he does not want to be a part of a rebuild. That would seem to rule out a Ron Rivera reunion in Washington. Reports have run rampant for some time that T.V. networks are circling, and The Athletic reported just two days that FOX has "made it clear" it is ready to hire Olsen if he hangs up his cleats.

gent Drew Rosenhaus told PFT that Olsen “is still interested in playing and I will be in communication with other teams after the Super Bowl.”

Patriots have an obvious need at Greg's position.

Question is, does Brady still have it in him for another season?
