What’s a successful #2 consist of? Stats or ability? Not interested in labels. More about letting players do what they are best at. Why can’t DJ use his “uncanny” ability with the ball in his hands because he catches them. too? We can let the QB pat it forward and call it a pass if it helps. Just get them easy touches.

To me a #2 is a speedy guy that takes the top off the defense and keeps them out of single high or makes them pay that has a decent to above average grasp on the route three. I do agree put the ball in his hands as a runner at the right time but the turners were already doing that, just too little. I agree on an increase but not so much that it takes away from what his responsibilities traditionally are. As for DJ his last 8 games were amazing, he showed a high level of route running and exceptional hands. Everytime he leaves the line of scrimmage he could get wide open 30yds down the field then turn into a RB. A run here and there to throw them off is fine but hes too much of a threat at this point imo to give him to many super short snaps. I just like the traditional roles especially with CMC able to take alot of those shorter passes. DJ will be drawing double teams soon mark jt.

I am not down on Herbert like others on this board.  I think he is raw, but he has the skills.  If you build the OL, sure.  Love is the darkhorse--could we drop back and grab him?  Prolly.

Can’t say I’m a fan of any of this years QBs.  I want to draft good line players and go full tank for Trevor or Fields next year.

If/when he's officially released, Greg Olsen will clear nearly $8M of 2020 cap space for the #Panthers, likely enough to cover the cap cost for their upcoming 1st, 2nd, & 3rd round draft pick this summer.

See, Marty knew what he was doing !

How does 3 carries keep DJ from doing anything?  Why would he be less valuable than taking one of his many blocking plays and run with one of the best YAC WRs in the NFL. It’s not an either/or situation.

They need a Z-option at WR so Samuel can play all over.. Problem is, he is a FA after this year. So if he does break out, is he part of this going forward? What do you pay him? For what he can do,, or what he has shown.
