I am not down on Herbert like others on this board.  I think he is raw, but he has the skills.  If you build the OL, sure.  Love is the darkhorse--could we drop back and grab him?  Prolly.

I'm not much on dropping back with a top 10 pick, you might get 1 a decade, we've unfortunately had 2. This is where you find a blue chip game changer to build around weather that be a QB or Luke Kuechly.

Newton or no Newton, I would call eight wins next season... optimistic.

I'm an optimist opposed to a pessimist, helps me...dont know about yall, most people do walk around in a negative poor me state all day nowadays, that's why working with the public is a nighmare.

I'm a realist, so telling myself great stuff is going to happen when I have no actual basis to believe it doesn't make me feel better.

Well all this tells me is Cam is next. I don't see how Cam even wants to stay now. His SB brothers are all gone. I expect Cam to be cut pretty soon. This is a rebuild not a retool situation.

yeah don't see cam wanting to stick around now.

Being an optimist is fine but I am a realist which is much closer to the truth

You can be a realist and a optimist at the same time...8 wins to me is failure so it's not really optimistic. However I can in my head put together a realistic path we could achieve more and still realize it has a low percentage of happening but that doesnt mean it cant happen.

With Cam our offense could carry us to 8 with this weak schedule and excellent draft position. Olsen was old and barely moving man, it doesnt mean anything that they parted ways, he might have 1 more year. He wasn't worth...what 8 or 10 million?

I hate to burst your bubble, but our 2015 offense barely scored more points than our 2019 defense gave up. Based on point differential our ceiling with the 2015 offense was the 9-7 Rams and we don’t have the 2015 offense of the 2015 defense whose 3 turnovers a game helped the the 2015 offense. Saying our floor with 2020 Cam is 8-8 is extremely unrealistic.
