Expansion into Toronto...?

The whole proximity thing is just dumb, I’m sorry. Cleveland is 10 minutes less to Pittsburgh. Baltimore is another 10 minutes less to Philly. Multiple cities have multiple teams. Not to mention it’s another COUNTRY. A team a whole country can route for.

Panthers moving there? Nah. Tepper is selling his entire fortune on Charlotte and they will give him a new stadium(s) in 5 years or so. For a new NFL team ya. The issue is that the NFL would have to have at least 2 teams coming in at this point.

Buffalo has a decent fan base in Toronto. It just means there is an owner who would not want a team in TO. It's not going to stop a team moving there if people want it. No such pressure in Mexico City or London.

Realistically, at some point there will be another expansion. There will be untapped markets that won’t be tapped just by moving teams, it will be another expansion. I don’t see it happening in the next decade but 10-20 years down the road sure.

Lots of rumbling about the Bills “NEEDING” a new stadium and not having the money for it.

wonder if that could play into it in the future with Toronto.

Considering the proximity, absolutely.

I think that has always been the veiled threat in Buffalo.

The stadium was built in 1973, has been renovated several times, but has been complained about for probably 20 years.  I think they have had a commission looking at options since 2014 and have a handful of potential sites.  New York state put the commission together so they may be willing to pony up some money for the project.  But, the state is deep in the hole to the tune of about $6 billion.  Medicaid is the chief culprit, and they have plans to cut payments.  Doing that while also spending money on a new stadium in Buffalo may be a tough sell.

Enter the threat of the Toronto Bison, and let the games begin.
