Not when your QB keeps getting killed AND you have a historically bad run defense.

If the CB is a better player who will have a better impact and is a all pro talent you take him... reaching for need is how you get a bad lesser player.

Sorry give me the all pro talent no matter what position..

Detroit has one of the best CBs in the league and one of the worst defenses. Why? Because they're terrible on the defensive line.

I wouldnt say they have the best CBs, they have 1 solid CB.  But their DL is weak.  And the big reason ive been mocking them Derrick Brown.

Their 2 starting DTs on a already poor DL, 1 is a FA, and the other is contemplating retirement.  And i think 1-2 more are FAs.  No one is talking about in a lot of these mocks that people write but will probably see closer to the draft, is jist how weak Detroit's interior is, similar to ours

I prefer the trenches, but Okudah and Brown are on the same level of value for me, with Thomas just a shade below.

Brown = Suh

Okudah = Peterson

Thomas = Johnson

I doubt all 3 options are on the board at 7, but either Brown or Okudah makes our defense infinitely better. I don't think DJax is anything better than a CB2 at his ceiling and is better suited at the nickel. For our remolding on defense, a future of Okudah as CB1, young vet at CB2 and Jackson as the nickel makes for quite an intimidating and lockdown unit across the board. To have a CB that eliminates one half of the field the way PP and Revis did, Okudah can give us that.

Still, we need to rebuild our trenches and Brown does have more of an overall impact for our defense. One of these two will be off the board at 7...... more than likely, both after the combine and pro days.
