Over a year ago I heard a rumor that someone spoke with Tepper before he even bought the team and his plan was always to update the uniforms. NFL rules make that take some time and the timing is just about right for that to happen now, and goes with his statement to put his "stamp" on the team.

Could be a variety of sources because to my knowledge, Tepper has not been quiet about his desire to update the uniforms.

Please god don't let some screwball totally ruin their uni's. They could certainly be improved but they aren't UGLY like some teams. No futuristic/new school/gimmicky poo please. Traditional always looks better imo.

thats my official guess. Tepper wants the best of the best everything. 

I think alot of people didn't guess this since they are taking out 900 seats and putting in suites. I think it might be awhile on the new stadium talk.

It may not be this year or this announcement but the team put in the paperwork in March to start the process and has been dead silent on that front since the deadline for the final design deadline in December. Just a reminder, Nike doesn’t design them or have final say in the process. They send a few people to work with the team to make sure the design fits the template and technology and for some slight input but ultimately the team has final say. I trust the team to make the right decision on this though. Tom Glick did an excellent job in the rebranding of Manchester City and took them from a middle of the pack club in Europe to a marketing giant in soccer. Exciting times are ahead of us.

Can't tell if joking but a new stadium is only coming after months of negotiations with various government entities on funding.. I mean unless Tepper has just decided to fully fund it.

Tepper is announcing he is completely disassociating the state of South Carolina with the Panthers. Fans from SC will have to pay double and their cars must past a simple emissions test before being allowed to park in city limits.

I hope it means Luke is coming back as LB coach. His knowledge of the game is invaluable & will help the LB core be a successful unit.
