grown man here....  cried twice over the last two weeks.... first when Luke announced retirement and today after hearing the news about Kobe..... second time puts the first into perspective...  hug your loved ones !!

Seeing the bond Kobe had with his daughter and knowing both are now gone in an instant is just unconscionable and gut wrenching.

I am stunned. There are no words to describe how I feel. It's just so heartbreaking. RIP to Kobe, his daughter, Gianna, and to the other passengers who passed away today. Unbelievable.

My wife just got a bit grumpy out of the blue with me, but I was doing taxes so I just let it go.

She came back a bit later and apologized and was tearing up. Said she's just shook up by it. Not so much because of who he is, but that there's a mom somewhere who just lost her husband and her daughter at the same time and now has to explain to a 3 year old why their sister and daddy won't be there anymore. 

Downright heartbreaking for any family to have to deal with. So easy to empathize with them having a young family with kids their kids age. 

It just hurts in so many ways. I hate it, but I hate it for them so much more.
