Deep WR class

I am tired of swimming against the current of the draft classes. Last couple year were deep as hell for interior OL and we selected none except maybe Daley. 
This years WR class is so deep.  Here is what the draft network has to say 

TO EVERY TEAM: DRAFT A WIDE RECEIVER THIS YEAR

I don't care if your team has a primary wide receiver need, a secondary wide receiver need or doesn't have a wide receiver sneed at all, every team in the NFL should draft a receiver from this draft class. This class is that good. I might not be ready to say it's "better" than the 2014 class, but I am comfortable saying it is the deepest class I have ever scouted.

Collin Johnson, K.J. Hill, Van Jefferson, Michael Pittman Jr. and Denzel Mims all looked like players who could instantly contribute on NFL team this year; while Tyrie Cleveland, Quartney Davis, Chase Claypool, Antonio Gandy-Golden and James Proche all looked like they had the potential to be contributors too. And those are just the names in Mobile.

From Rounds 1-7, you can find a receiver in this class. The Senior Bowl proved just how deep this class is.

 

 

I would not mind a later round (5-7) for a larger red zone threat like Mims, Claypool, or Golden. 
But adding KJ Hill to the mix might give Brady’s offense a video game feel.  But he would require a higher pick and we have so many holes.  

What round do you want one and who do you want?

I wouldnt mid Mims late 3rd or so.

 

Rhule kid, and was one of the stars of seniorbowl week.  And he is Still pretty raw with plenty of upside.

Lots of WR's, good, we can pick a good one up later and not early.  Hope he is over 6'

I'm on the CeeDee Lamb bandwagon. It's like having another taller DJ who is a tackle breaker, beast of a blocker, YAC savant. Those two together would absolutely beast. I see Jeudy and Lamb as 1a1b because either one would raise the level of this offense significantly.

Actually Lamb and DJ brings to mind Moose and Smitty. Both YAC guys.

The funny thing is the draft was deep at really good wife receivers this past year.   
 

somehow we drafted another turd.

our whole draft this past year was turds actually.  Burns is Everette Brown 2.0, Miller hasn’t arrived, Little is on the field little.

Daley was probably our only hopeful draft pick. 
 

so what makes anyone think that we can draft a wide receiver outside the first round?

We need WR3 in this draft.  I'm still not completely sold on Curtis, but imagine if DJ got hurt ala Benjamin.  This is the draft to do it.  I could understand the right guy being there in Rd 3, but I'd love to find great value in 4 or 5.  Also wouldn't mind double dipping in the 6th or 7th to get a big red zone target if our first WR pick isn't very tall.

I guess the dream was you considering him an Interior OL as the OP clearly stated was the strength. 

  Little was part of a bad LT class.

I wouldn't be opposed to a WR, but a day 3 selection only.  Frankly, we would get better production out of second tier FA.  I wouldn't mind giving Hogan another shot due to his season being injury-shortened.   Developing a rookie WR3 largely from the sidelines is pretty hard.  Besides, we have MUCH bigger fish to fry.

A WR2 would be even better. I'm just not sure Samuel is ever going to develop into a true starting outside WR.

Curtis was brought here to take the top off defenses.  Until we get a QB that has an accurate deep ball and an OL to allow that kind of time, Curtis is going to seem misappropriated. I see him taking a Ted Ginn Jr. path, but not nearly as long to develop.  If we could ever get the long ball game going again, Samuel will feast.  My only apprehension is we will lose him in FA and he goes to a team like KC and becomes a beast.
