My take on this quote is this:

Rhule does not have final say on the rosters, so he is working with what he has on the roster at this moment. Cam has 1 year left on his contract. So when asked what his plans are with Cam.....he plans on winning a Superbowl with him. Because until he is cut, or traded, he is the starting QB on the roster.

Nobody is saying a top 5 pick makes us good instantly but its a part of the process that makes us good eventually. 

 

Personally I think there is no way Cam is rolling out there on a prove it type one year deal especially with him coming off the injuries.  I guess we shall see in the next month or so. 

I wouldn't even say a top 5 pick makes us good "eventually" so many teams like the Browns are stuck drafting in the top 10 every year because they make the wrong pick. Not that the Panthers are the Browns but they very well could be. Like I've been saying sabotaging the Panthers future by releasing Cam too early (this year) can set this franchise back for an entire decade. Rhule may not live to see a winning season with a move like that. If Cam is healthy they have to see what they have with him. Franchise Qbs are just too damn hard to find. Even at 30 years old.
