You're not wrong.

At BEST the value he holds is a 2nd rounder. At BEST. Those who think he is worth a 1st at this point in time are delusional.

At worst we cut him and get nothing but the cap savings (edited--thanks Linville)

If you cut him you get nothing. Comp picks are only for players entering free agency due to their contract expiring. If you release them they do not count toward comp pick consideration.

That is right--my bad.

For all of you making the case of a team trading for Cam why the fug wouldn’t we just keep him?

We won’t get poo in a trade. At the best we’ll get a 3rd or 4th rounder and draft someone who won’t be on the team next year.

Because our decisions don’t matter one bit if Cam stays or leave. You can drink yourself to sleep along with pain pills about this topic. At the end of the day, Rhule and Brady will decide if Cam will stay or leave. The writing is on the wall for Cam.

Have you read some of the responses on this board the last week?

Apparently franchise qbs grow on trees. And if we embrace sucking on purpose for the next 3 years we're guaranteed unlimited Superb Owls!!!!!

Great times to be apart of the huddle. Getting rid of Cam Newton WOULD BE THE DUMBEST THING THIS FRANCHISE HAS EVER DONE. PERIOD.

Would trade for Cam? Can he even pass a physical right now? Ask your self if you were running a team would you trade for an injured QB who you haven’t seen healthy in years? He has zero trade value until he plays again.

If we move on from Cam this year without seeing if he can still play not only will it be dumb but it would most likely be the result of releasing him and not a trade.

You missed the most important part. He costs 20 million? And will cost that much at least on a new contract.
