We need to be wise with Cam

That's probably a good thing right now.

We finished the season 5-11, but even that's misleading. I watched every game right up to the end, and I can tell you the team that I saw on the back end of our season was so bad we'd be lucky to win three games at this point.

You can hope for the quick fix all you want. I seriously doubt it's coming.

It'd be wiser to brace for a rough road ahead

That team couldn't stop a 5 yard run knowing the run was coming...it effects moral big time. New year, new coaches, and a new will to win. N2m the pressure it puts on everyone behind the DL

He had a 25% pressure rate before getting hurt and several of addison's sacks were directly due to him. He still finished with alot of sacks for a rookie with very limited play time.

Its more than sacks.  He was literally getting pushed 5 yards down the field on the running plays.  Hence why he was not playing towards the end once teams figured that out.  Can he correct that?  I have no idea but he is not a complete lineman now that we can plug and play.

So now we are relying on morale, free agents, cam being healthy and wanting to play and draft picks for us to be a contender next year?  All with a first year coach

Brother I have been watching the nfl for a long time and all I can suggest is just get ready for a long season

If Tepper decides to trade or release Cam he immediately becomes the villain to a large portion of the fan base.

If Cam goes on to be successful on another team, fans will remain pissed off until a new QB wins games and takes the Panthers to the playoffs and beyond.

Let them be pissed. They aren't Panthers fans. They're Cam fans. No matter what that billboard says, this isn't Camolina.

It's not guaranteed.

It's just a smarter path then trying to win right now and postponing the inevitable.

Keeping Cam shouldn't take away from what this team wants to do in the long run unless its tanking for the #1 pick next year. Which again is one of the dumbest and idiotic things this franchise will have done since its inception. The season hasn't even started you dont go into the season with that type of loser mentality. That is just so bad. That's the only legit reason I can see why Cam would be "in the way" of the future.

tepper doesn't care about  the seats being filled this year.   nfl is revenue sharing.    he has a vision.  his vision is to build a consistent winner.  this may take 3-5 years.   why is this his vision, and why doesn't he share the vision to try and make a run with cam for a couple years - like a few of you?   i'll tell you.   he wants a new stadium/complex/mini city with lots of businesses.   all those businesses at the new stadium, that will be filled with shoppers, diners, drinkers... take 1 guess what he doesn't have to do with the money he makes off of it?   he doesn't have to share the revenue with the nfl or the players.   this is a move right out of kraft's playbook.   wake up. he doesn't give a crap about cam's legacy or cobbling a team together so cam's narrative won't be what it is becoming.    he cares about building a winner and making money long term.     guess who won't give a crap about what happens with cam in carolina if he succeeds  in 5 years?  all of us won't give a crap.

I believe in the first 2 picks especially being this high, starting. I've been watching it a long time to and have come to realize garbage coaching can turn a all pro team into nothing and give versa.

Nah. That's not it. Has nothing to do with being a fan of Cam or not. Cam Newton without a doubt gives us the best chance to win football games. I dont know about you Brooklyn 3.0 but I like when the Panthers win football games. I like that very much. It seems people like you get an enjoyment out of watching them lose. Who's the real fan here?

I agree he was more of a liability against the run but if we actually had a run stopping DT that takes doubles it would go a long way. He also played more in the last to games and I believe pulled a sack in both. We didn't have a run problem when Burns played early in the year but KK and Poe were healthy.

What happens if the wins don't come after "a couple of seasons" What then? Fire Rhule and start over AGAIN? Sounds a lot like the Browns if you ask me

Dude, we can't even manage back to back winning seasons. Other than a handful of surprising seasons, this franchise is mediocre as it gets. 15-1 really blinded a lot of you. Top team ... lol.
