We need to be wise with Cam

Plus our foundation is CMC, Moore, Burns, Cam if retained, and whoever our top 10 pick is this year. It actually sounds fairly competitive right there not to mention some other pieces like KK, Bradberry, Curtis and a few others that are far above average. Like I've said, I've seen far worse teams make a push. We can rebuild or whatever while we at least try and not make my eyes bleed.

Burns is a project.  Dont kid yourself.  He is a one trick pony that is a massive liability against the run.  Maybe he can bulk up and keep speed, I guess we will see.  Curtis is above average?  Come on now.

What exactly is wrong with keeping Cam and rebuilding the oline and dline? We'd likely be doing the same thing regardless if Cam is here or not..it has to happen, and honestly the oline is literally the only issue on the offense. Defense will need a bit more work and I'm sure we'll have an infusion of young players playing on the D next year but so what? If we can put up points it wont matter as much. And we aren't sacrificing anything for the future

What makes you think Newton would want to spend what could be his last few years in the NFL as part of a rebuild?

Offense needs more depth on line and another wr or two.  Then there is the TE issue.

Curtis in his position does what he is supposed to, scare the defense out of single high and he makes some pretty nice contested catches in the redzone. KA left a couple hundred yards on the field to Curtis and when Burns was healthy he was in convo for droy.

Cam is a fan favorite and will put fans in the seats . If Cam is traded Tepper will look like a bum .  Build up the trenches this year and see what a healthy Cam can do .  Give Rhule time to look at Allen and Grier . With a better line it will give any QB a better chance to succeed .  If this doesn't work then draft a QB next year .

You can take alot of what these guys say with a grain of salt, please tell me what positions we will be missing so much at running a nickel base and maybe you can prove me wrong. I'm fine with being wrong.

You realize that like half of our starters are either hurt, free agents or just retired right?

I'm sure I could name you half a dozen really good players on the Browns too. Unfortunately, having a few good players doesn't make you a good team.

When a team needs an overhaul, continually trying to win now accomplishes nothing but making the process longer.

Let's say the rebuilding process takes three years. We can start now and three years from now be better. Or we can keep trying to win now for two more years, then finally start the process and we'll all have been waiting five years for something we could have accomplished in just three.

Better to get it going. The sooner you start, the sooner you can finish.

The browns coaching staff is putrid, is ours? Nobody knows and I want to find out sooner then later.

Or we can try and win 3 years from now and still not win. Listen I just don't understand it I'm sorry this is the NFL. This isn't Baylor or Temple coming into the NFL as a first time head coach hellbent on having a losing record for the first 2-3 years of your coaching tenure sounds about as horrible of plan as I've seen. What guarantees that the wins will come after 3 years? 5 years? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Shaq is in for Luke and Ian has excelled when given playing time, most of the hurt guys are in positions I want to draft high and will be healthy next year.

That's probably a good thing right now.

We finished the season 5-11, but even that's misleading. I watched every game right up to the end, and I can tell you the team that I saw on the back end of our season was so bad we'd be lucky to win three games at this point.

You can hope for the quick fix all you want. I seriously doubt it's coming.

It'd be wiser to brace for a rough road ahead

It's not guaranteed.

It's just a smarter path then trying to win right now and postponing the inevitable.

He had a 25% pressure rate before getting hurt and several of addison's sacks were directly due to him. He still finished with alot of sacks for a rookie with very limited play time.

    • These last couple playoff/championship games for the edge class will mean millions. Someone will have a big game and become the favorite top edge. Everything is on the line for the edge group now.
    • Because he's not the best prospect in the draft, he's the best college player in the draft, and those are two entirely different things. Yes, if he focused on one side, his stats may have been better, but stats aren't what makes a player's prospects, it's their abilities and how they translate to the next level. I'm also not knocking him as a prospect, not like I'm saying he's a mid round pick, he's just probably the 2nd best CB and 3rd best WR, in what way is that throwing shade on him?  It's literally saying he's a Top 10 pick, just not THE top prospect at his position(s).  I really don't get why you think someone saying a player is the 2nd best player at one position and 2nd or 3rd best at another position is hating on them, it's crazy talk. Even in your defense of him here, you say a just asinine sentence, "he's the #1 rated prospect because he's actually elite at both positions" His ability at 2 positions has 0% bearing on his NFL prospects, as no team is going to use him full time both ways, he's either going to be a full time WR, or a mostly full time CB who gets 5 or so snaps a game on offense.   So him playing both positions shouldn't factor into any team's draft evaluation of him, if a team is taking him over Johnson because of the few snaps he'd play on offense, they're choosing a player for the wrong reason.  The only way I'm taking him over T-Mac is if it's a team that already has a true outside #1 and what they need is speed in the slot to compliment the outside guy (and btw, most teams don't have that, if anything, most would have the slot guy and need the true outside #1).
    • Remember when @CamWhoaaCam didn't bandwagon that team that was having a surprisingly good season?
