We need to be wise with Cam

That assumes that Cam would pick up a WCO based offense and make the transition right away  Cam did great when the offense was tailored to him. And while Brady says he will do that, this is likely typical coach speak. Cam may not have the best skill set to run this offense.  This will be a new offense for whoever is at quarterback and Cam  might need time to learn it and at this time he is in a one year deal.

There's a lot of uncertainty as to what exactly we're going to run and I understand the argument of moving on from Cam as well as retaining him. I just dont think a team/coach should ever want to lose on purpose unless the season is already lost. This whole narrative of tanking the first 2-3 seasons of the Rhule era just seems silly to me. And getting rid of Cam will all but secure that narrative as well as waste away CMCs prime years. Whereas if we keep Cam we're a couple pieces on the oline away from fielding a really good offense with Joe Brady and not Mike fuging Shula coordinating. Idk who knows what's going to happen honestly I just feel like itd be in the team, the coaches, Cam's, and the fans best interest to see what they can do together.

There are too many high line centers that would instantly start in this draft that wilm be available with our 2and pick not to fix the position. This is yet another example.

Totally agree that tanking anytime is a loser mentality. And sucking in 2020 is year three not year 1 in tanking. The biggest question is whether going in any direction other than Cam would be tanking or that keeping Cam will suddenly turn things around  I am not convinced that moving on from Cam will be worse than keeping him given he is not a good match for what Brady ran in NO or LSU. And yeah he said he would match what we do to who we have but they all said that. Remember when Rivera said we would be aggressive on offense and defense and dictate to the other team.

Each year teams lose players, draft new players and add free agents.  Rebuilding can be achieved overnight if all the right moves are made. The teams that maintain excellence are good at all 3 phases of Retaining talent, solid free agents and good draft picks (including UDFA). We have a decent core so why not start from there. 

One of Rhule's greatest attributes (or so they say) is making things happen with what he had. Many good players are still on this roster and with a smart draft and good free agents we can be competitive. 

I believe Cam will be back 100% and will flourish in Brady's offense.  We have to believe some of the rookies will make a leap in their 2nd year. 

If Rhule is as good as he says he is than he'll take the talent we have and win.

Yea I am a firm believer Rhule and Brady can get the most out of the players we have and field a perfectly fine team where as Rivera was lucky to get 75% out of them. The teams that are perennial losers usually stay losers, I really don't see these rebuilds people speak of. Imo rebuild is used as an excuse to be losers. No team is full of all pros or even elite player's, every team has holes. The Patriots never seem to field a great team on paper but win because of their ability to gameplan, mostly due to the aptitude of their front office and coaching. This team has plenty to compete, the run defense must be fixed and we must get a center, outside of that we can be fine.

Cam Newton is under contract for the 2020 season. If he stays healthy and the team/offense is trending in a solid direction I fully expect him to get resigned. Why wouldn't he

If he balls out and plays all 16 games, then yes, pay him. I'm hoping that he does, however people are getting butthurt at the mere possibility of Cam not being a Panther when its a very real possibility.
