I feel like Simmons could cover Julio Jones on half his routes, and that ability and versatility is the only reason I would take him over Brown.

People just wanna see what they wanna see . I thought the same thing . Oh this guys just a typical linebacker with speed . That everybody hype up that they can do a lot of things. Aka Shaq during the draft process . Then i actually watched him play . This dude literally can play 4 positions At an elite level it’s crazy . No matter where you put him it’s a win/win . Draft him move Reid to OLB then have Simmons play strong safety slash Big nickel . Then rush him sometimes on 3rd is my dream scenario lol

I seen this team go to the super bowl with average to solid tackles . I’m just not a fan of first round tackles at all . There’s only one that’s gonna be good out of the tackles that get taken early . Just look at the pass drafts .

Honestly, yea. I think we have spots we can get better at and we have holes. OL is a hole. DT is a hole. Safety is arguably a permanent hole. ILB is a spot we can get better at. We don’t have much there, but we don’t need much there. Better to improve the DTs and make it easier on whoever is playing ILB. TE and WR are spots we could get better at. CB is a spot we could get better at assuming Bradberry is retained (if not I think we’ll address CB in FA). Only true holes I see are both lines, maybe Safety.

I think the wholes on the ol are in the same category as the other positions you said we can get better at. If you believe in Daley and Little that is, there are 2 guys who could play the positions we have there in dout, but honestly alot of this wont become clear till after march free agency, who's to say we dont address LT, RT, DT, LB, CB, Or FS in the free agency.

That said all are issues that could also be addressed with the first pick. So that's why I said I dont think there is a terrible pick we can make since where picking inside the top 10 and at 7 chances are your getting the best player you can that year at some position. I think you have to factor in positional value plus star potential in this case. Is a ok LT work more than day a sure fire pro bowler like say Okuda or Juedy?

I'm pretty happy where we are picking gives us options we could move up or down and honestly end up with whoever we wanted outside Burrow and Chase.

He is not shaq... shaq was not 6'4 230 and could play any position on defense. Shaq was projected to be a second round pick by most. If this guy runs a 4.4 I think you start to hear more of a Derwin James comparison than Shaq.

Panthers Fans love to compare potential draft picks to current or former panther players when they are nothing a like. "Curtis Samuel" is Ted Ginn"  "Simmons is Shaq T" or the "Brian Burns is just Everette Brown". Their are different teirs of talent and just because both are fast doesn't mean they have the same size or ability. We need to get away from this.

Calm ya panties . I’m saying the same thing you saying . He is nothing like Shaq . He’s way more . And Shaq got a lot of hype cause they said he can play safety linebacker or running back . He’s everything they saying Shaq was as in term of having a versatile defensive player and i only use Shaq as an example cause i remember it vividly  . Yes he more like Derwin but i think he can be better cause he can do more than Derwin can . Shaq was also a late 1st rounder, not #7 overall.

Oh okay . Yeah I’m high on Simmons and i wasn’t always until i actually watched him . He legit. Him or Derrick Brown at 7 and I’m happy . If you can guarantee the LT we take 7 will be a hof that’s the only way I’ll be okay with a tackle at 7 . But you can’t so i don’t want to take one  that early lol

I don't need him to be HOF. I'd take a Jordan Gross type at #7 all day everyday.

True, but only because our pick is  that early i need hof . If it was mid to late round then yes Jordan gross clone would be fine . A lot of teams reach for a need i don’t want to be one of those teams  esp in the top ten
