Rapoport's Guess: Panthers will look to trade Cam once healthy

Also, Kyle Allen and Will Grier are clearly NOT the answers. So you can’t ask the Cam question without stating your plan for QB moving forward. Like showing your work on a math problem in grade school. You can’t just say, Cam is gone. Like ok, then if Cam is gone, what is the plan to run this Brady wunderkind offense moving forward?

Bridgewater?

A theory---and this is not that I am endorsing this theory---but it is a theory.

Maybe we signed Brady so we would not have to draft a Burrow ?  Maybe he thinks he can take a Fromme and bring him around or even Herbert?

Fromme or Hebert u just made me instantly puke.. should stick with Allen and Grier at that point if Cam is gone!! Gees these topics or tools give me a headache!! But listen to Kaleo.. if u like Blues

Could be, and at least you gave an alternate suggestion regarding a QB of the future so cheers to that. Rapaport saying my hunch says they trade a healthy Cam with no one pressing him to say ok and then what do they do at QB is lame as fug and is the exact reason why some of these plebes keep their niche job of “NFL Insiders”.

Like if I had a podcast and Ian Rapaport said my understanding is that they’ll trade Cam when healthy, I’d follow up with what do you think they will get in exchange for him, and what will they do with those picks to get a serviceable QB for the future?

But nope it’s good old Ian and Schefter throwing spaghetti at the wall like cool it is sticking seems fine bye TTYL HAGS KIT.

Is he a FA as a bridge/stopgap or would we have to trade? I mean he could be interesting but I feel like in today’s NFL you can’t have Gamer McLunchpail leading your offense. I mean I guess the Titans have Tannehill so that bodes well for the FA stopgap crowd but our whole team is so awful I genuinely don’t know where to start.

Sometimes, as a reporter, it’s OK just to say: “I’m not sure what’s going to happen yet.”

Which would be fine if Rapaport said “my guess is...” but he didn’t do that, he specifically backtracked and said “my understanding is...” which implies knowledge the rest of us don’t have. If you are gonna go that route, you better have something to say or you look like Corky Thatcher.

Free Agent Stop gap, but who knows. Just mentioning an option.

I think we may be exaggerating how bad we are. It doesn't look good but it might bot be that bad.

In which case: “sources tell me” or “I’m being told” is probably a decent way to frame the story.

He works for the league. I’m certain he knows more than any of us do about this situation. (Actually, Zack might know more, TBH)

He should put it in print, citing a source (unnamed or otherwise). That’s reporting. Just my two cents.

that deleted thread that leaked the news before he announced sure seemed to suggest that rhule’s old college buddies knew

Someone stated it was a possibility in AllPro a week or so ago. Some folks knew there was a chance but I don’t think anyone knew for sure. I think Luke was still making decisions on what to do until last week.

I'm not seeing it. Nor do I think Allen can run the Air Raid.

The Air Raid was ran at WVU while Grier was there. That is the reason I said he could run it.

But honestly do you think a air raid system would work in the nfl?  I just cant see it succeeding for long.

As far as the Luke speculation is concerned, it’s been pretty common knowledge that he may retire early. I was told two seasons ago that he wouldn’t play beyond his current contract because of the concussion issues.

He had discussed it all with his family awhile back. I didn’t think that was a secret. Sure calling it quits this week was unexpected but not all that surprising. Like I said, I genuinely thought it was assumed this contract would be it for him and he was concerned with his long term health
