Since the Rams don't look great right now and Goff looks like he wasn't remotely worth that trade, I'm not sure that's the example I'd be leaning on.

True, but I also think anyone with any kind of standout personality who becomes hugely popular gets backlash. Let Lawrence come here, live up to the hype, gain a legion of fans, and there will also be some number of people who don't like him just cause he's successful and everybody else does. Human beings are weird and irrational. Sometimes the irrationality is morally reprehensible, other times it's just silly.

For the record I wish Lawrence would cut his hair, because if you play football, I think it's at least a little dumb to have hair that sticks out of your helmet. It's just asking for trouble.

Goff kind of sucks. They could have had Prescott and all those picks and probably won a superbowl.

Guys it's simple, all we need to do is trade players for picks and tank, or trade up. It worked great for the Bears, and Rams. Yeah, maybe they'll need to pick a new quarterback after bottoming out next year, but whatever. Hell, just look at the Dolphins. They traded away anyone with value, got a bunch of picks, and now they maybe got a hot chance at the second best quarterback in the draft, that's just a bit injury prone, and will only probably only cost a few picks in a trade up with the Lions to grab him.

Totally the direction the Panthers should move in.
