I'm not arguing that.  Hell Rhule and his friend could have been having lunch when Luke called to inform him he was going to retire and his friend overhead it.  It doesn't matter really.  I'm sure the guy that posted it was told to keep his mouth shut about what his friend had heard.  He posted the "rumor"  and when he realized what a poo storm it started he asked a mod to take it down.  Not everything is a conspiracy.

Two weeks ago on ESPN, Foxworth was going through a list of players that have been with a team for a while but will be on a new one next year. He mentioned Andy Dalton and a few others but then he mentioned cam, when after he was done saying his name, Schefter said “I wouldn’t count Cam out of Carolina”. No one asked Schefter to give more details, that was the end of the discussion. I trust Schefter more than Rapsheet.

...and just like that we are back in cap and dead money hell.... they'll need the monetary relief from Cam...and others... i just hope we get something for him...think we are approaching 20mil in dead money depending on Lukes deal...clean it up in 2020.....see ya in 2021..

Which is why some don’t even bother sharing the info they have on here. At the end of the day it’s just not worth it. Nothing to gain from it and are just called out when plans don’t fall through according to once planned.

I just don't understand why we have to suck in order to rebuild and retool. Keeping Cam Newton in an offense with CMC an upgraded oline and a draft pick at wr our offense can still put up points. 

Bottom line is getting rid of Cam without giving him a chance could screw this team over for years. Hell, it could even come to cost Rhule his job. Nothing is for sure or guaranteed in this league. There is no guarantee we go out and find our "franchise qb of the future" that's more of a gamble than seeing what Cam can do for 1 more year with some great young offensive minds working with him.

If the best is a 3rd, hard pass. Let him hit FA and maybe get a 3rd comp out of it. Late 2nd has that same feel too.

The other option is to sign an extension for a 31 year old QB who’s been injured the last two years...with a new coach, new system, and a team that has seen essentially every meaningful veteran leave or retire in the last two years. 
 

Yeah....trading him is the right move.
