Scoring 40 points a game helps a bad defense.  Also, we still have the draft and free agency to fix the D.  Its not like we are about to start the new season, it could look like a completely different roster by the time next August rolls around.

You simply cannot create a super bowl level defense through free agency, there has to be some home grown talent in there and right now I aint see it.

See I am new here so I dont know if this is shtick or not but I will play.  I truly hope you get some mental healthy if you honestly believe that.   What about our defense and how historically bad it was last year and oh yeah our best leader and linebacker of that crappy d just retired.   Before the retirement I am not sure what was worse our secondary or defensive line.  Now with Luke going all three units are equally in the shitter.  we have so many holes and you just cannot miraculously cure an offensive line that has very little talent.  I just am not seeing what you are here.

Hell if you asked me I would be throwing Cmacs name out there just to see what his trade value is.  Whats the point of wearing him down when we will not be good for at least 2 seasons?

It's never as good as it seems (2015)

It's never as bad as it seems (now)

I think it's supposed to be implicit - I mean, he's more of an information broker than a real pundit, so I think he's assuming we know that if he has "a belief" it's because of poo he's hearing from insiders.

But yeah, it's slippery wording with built-in deniability

While I get what you are saying completely.  And I will concede that could very well be it.  At the same time Rap never has an issue throwing in the "per sources" tag line to give other statements more weight.

I just see this as something the media has been trying to push for viewership/clicks every since Allen won his first game.  The media is so used to relying on major markets and ignoring small markets, that if they can drum up any sorta hits exploiting the issues of a smaller market team..sources be damned.

I have no idea what this means because our defense is horrific and we just lost the best player off of it.  Our safeties are lol bad and the starters on the dline are either hurt or free agents.  its going ot get bad before it gets better

lol ... what the hell has this world come too ..

Wanting to keep an MVP, franchise QB who is 30 years old is ridiculous?

You're all out of your mind

The MVP was a long time ago in NFL standards, that 30 year old qb is coming off 3 surgeries, and that 30 year old is going to want a massive contract.

yeah man, we are the ones out of our minds

James Bradbury, Shaq Thompson, Brian Burns, Tre Boston, etc, etc.  There are some good pieces there.  KK Short is coming back next year.  Its not like the D is completely devoid of talent.  Scheme and coaching were miserable last year.  As was the play of Donte Jackson.

Stop with this Cam is going to want a massive contract .. he won't get a massive contract anywhere if he isn't on the field playing well ..

Cam had a major shoulder surgery prior to the 2017 season - and there was no issue with his shoulder all of the 2017 season .. in 2018 he was not injured he only had scar tissue built up restricting his range of motion - a very minor procedure fixed that.

Bradbury and shaq are decent.  Burns cannot see the field as it stands now because he is a huge liability against the run.  He literally gets pushed 5 yards back on every run play.  KK has a pretty big injury and will just be doubled all next year.  And I hope you are joking about Boston.  I honestly dont know what to make of Jackson

and the foot?   If cam plays here in 2020 he is going to want a massive new deal.  How in the hell can you not see that?  You think he is playing for the league minimum?  Why would a team in a rebuild do this?  Can you not answer that?

Not a "massive contract" but I can't fault him for looking out for himself and seeking at least a 1 or 2 year extension with more guaranteed money. I don't know how anyone who cares about Cam would want him to play out his current contract with $0 guaranteed money.

Just, no. What's best for Cam regarding acquiring a massive new deal is to ball in the last year of his contract. He ain't getting a massive new deal right now, from any team.

So what?  If he is healthy and back to the old Cam, we SHOULD give him a big new deal.  You DO have to pay good money for a franchise QB in the NFL these days.
