So your entire argument gets blow up about drafting.

We have a head coach who has gone what 3-26 in his first seasons coming into the nfl that is according to analytics way out of his league.

Our biggest players are going or gone and you expect us to get a mid round pick?

and when called our you have nothing to say?

right...

@Growl all you can do.

Sure, if you are a QB away.

But we aren’t a QB away.  We are team away

Disagree.

A franchise QB can make up for a lot of holes.

We saw that every year Cam took this team to the playoffs. This roster isn’t as bad as many of you are making it out to be. With a few cuts we have 50 mill to spend and if we went the Burrow route we’d have roughly 70 mill to spend.

If Burrow ends up being that franchise type QB then Burrow plus what we have and 70 mill in FA. We’d be competitive.

Can you please show me where any of the current leadership has talked about rebuilding?

If you don't think I have to build something long term, if you don't think it takes time to build something great, if you think something great gets built in one second, then that's wrong. You shouldn't expect it, fans shouldn't expect it. I'm not talking about one year, I'm talking of a standard that will be built and sustained, OK? Built and sustained. If the fans are expecting something to be miraculous next year, listen, it could happen. Maybe, you know, it's that good, but you can't count on that. There has to be a degree of patience to build sustained excellence. I'm going to say that again, sustained excellence. You say five years? Listen, you want to wait five years for sustained excellence? You think people will wait five years for sustained excellence? For 20 years of winning seasons? They better, if they want that. You're not going to get things, immediate gratification. It may come, it may not come, will see how fast it can do. Listen, I'm not going to sit here and BS people. It's a building process. You heard about Rome, right?"

He doesn't talk about re-building, as that would imply it was "built" when he got here, he is talking about tearing it down, to build it up right.  Not only that, but if you have paid attention to anything he has done this offseason it's been leaning toward total rebuild.

So you would give up nearly 2 full drafts for one player?  Think about how long it will take to build a team without a draft for 2 years.  No, you never give up that much for one player I don't care who that player is.  You guys are nuts.

This is the correct answer. Look at how bad a position the Rams look to be in after giving up 2 first for Ramsey.

Only if we are moving on from cam, which given the cost to move up for burrow, I only do it if it’s 1000% sure cam is done.

settling for any other qb who isn’t on Cam’s level when healthy or who can’t be better than peak cam is setting us up for the same mediocrity we’re accustomed to

Hell no

People are getting caught up in the hype off one season, he got beat out by Haskins and was mediocre last year with the same weapons

To be fair, Russell Wilson was mediocre at NC State after his freshman year where he only threw one interception. He didn't really show greatness until he transferred to Wisconsin. He just showed some flashy plays and a consistent sub-60% completion percentage

Nobody is saying trade 2 firsts for a corner. A better comp would be them trading their future first for Goff or the eagles doing it for Wentz.

Can won't be traded.  He will be released and maybe you get 3rd next year but let's just drop this fantasy trade idea.  And Burrow will cost more than the value chart indicates you can bank on that.

This team is NOT one player away from competing.  They need way more draft picks than they have.

There’s no way Cam is getting released. He’ll be traded or he’ll be here. No comp picks for players you release. At the absolute least Cam could fetch a day 3 pick, likely much more. There is no cap benefit to releasing him instead of trading him. Also, we would want to ensure he goes to the AFC. No reason at all to just release him.

Hate to say it but our best trade bait  and the one that makes sense to me is CMC. You can always find a decent back in later rounds and he is going to cost too much to keep in two years with a total team over haul.  Dangle him in front of Denver and see what they'll give up. Make taking back Paradis part of the deal.
