Will Luke be remembered by the world as one of the best?

Kenny Easley, Terrell Davis both had short careers and made the HOF.. Gale Sayers played 68 total games and is in. Kurt Warner got in with basically 8 seasons as a "starter" (10 or more starts) He was a replacement level player for half of his career.  Luke's resume is the very embodiment of was the HOF is about, playing at an elite level each year of his career.

I think he will be mentioned by commentators on sundays as being among the best when they talk about defensive players on the field. He just didn’t have the longevity of someone like ray Lewis. Luke was really special. But he hasn’t been himself for a couple seasons. He is smart as hell to move on. Don’t be surprised to see him as a HC down the line.

They already talked about him being one of the best ever. However they always referred back to the trope that he was mostly just a "cerebral" guy while ignoring his elite athleticism because of his skin color. As you hear people say about CMC, "that's one bad white dude". Can't imagine the sh** storm if the shoe was on the other foot in 2020.

By the time he is eligible, the committee members won't be looking at length of career nearly as much as they did in the past.

Playing more than 10 years is going to be the outlier moving forward at any position not named QB.

He will be the 3rd "Panther" inducted.

Sadly, no.   I think HOF may not happen either.   He needed a few more years to make more of a mark unfortunately.    But at least he'll have his brain in 20 years.

Butkus played 9 years, made 8 pro bowls. Luke played 8 years, made 7 pro bowls.

5th, Sam Mills and Steve Smith will go in before him.  Already have Greene and White in there.

It's why I put Panther in " ".

I'm speaking of home grown, not stopping by for a cup of coffee.

Steve, Peppers, Luke....then possibly Olsen.....possibly Cam but I think he may be on the outside looking in.

I feel Greene spent enough time with us to be considered a Panther, White possibly not.

He played with us for 3 seasons, don't think that is long enough to be considered one of "ours", but to each his own.

And wound up leaving us because he held out for more money the one year.

His name was mud with Panther fans for a while after that.
