I feel sad that he feels like he can't play up to NFL standards anymore. This 3-4 switch Rivera came up with killed him.

I think he played up to NFL standards but not his own. He hasn't been as quick to run into danger for obvious reasons since the concussion. He was easily the best lb in the NFL before the concussions, you could definitely see where it took some of his intensity away. He was imo still playing at a top 3 level however not the way he wanted to imo.

Good for him. Buy a nice boat and spend a few years fishing and hanging with family, maybe get into coaching when ready. Great guy and great player. No need to risk losing his marbles with another concussion. Go live a life Luke.

Many of us said the same thing about Cam when RR Shula were calling QB dives and traps and options--We are seeing the results of a "Me now" coach who was given nearly a decade to not win a SB--we had better athletes and should have 2 rings-but better coaches beat our better athletes---Thanks RR---for trashing the guys who saved your career and made the world think you were legit.  Washington will fire you in 2-3 years, and you can Retire knowing that you scammed the league.

MHS831  I fully agree with you and couldn't have said it better.

This. It hurts and it sucks because he is still great and been a mainstay for almost a decade. But players come and go and everyone eventually moves on. Wish him noting but good health and a joyful post football life.

Whatever dude. The internet is serious business.

I put you on ignore months ago and haven’t regretted it for a moment. Your silly immature behavior ever since auto pooing every post of mine you see and then having the balls to tell other posters to grow up when it’s obvious to everyone but you how completely asinine and childish your behavior is would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic.

Oh and don’t bother to reply. You’re still on ignore. Telling you what a dipshit you are in no way means I have slightest interest in anything your third grade level mind has to offer. Have fun with your childish pooing of everything.

Think about a rebuid--

That may be the plan?

Luke: $15m

Cam: $21m if we trade him; $19m to cut

Greg: $12m

That is about $46-8m.

Cutting Poe would create almost $10m.

Add that to our $25m Cap room, we are looking at somewhere in the $80m range.

The last time Marty had that kind of cash, he overpaid for players from a 2-14 team.

That's not the way that will work. Luke will generate $11.84 mil in dead cap and create $3.67 mil in cap space. Greg retiring would create $8.1 mil in cap space and $3.7 mil in dead cap.

So, cutting Cam and Luke/Greg retiring would only create an additional $26.47 mil in cap space. Not really a lot of consolation considering the value of what would be lost. It's not even technically enough money to sign a franchise caliber QB.
