I heard the Brady announcement and this Luke news about 10 minutes apart....talk about a range of emotions in a short period

 

Sad to hear this, but I kinda had a feeling Luke had 1 maybe 2 years left. I was wrong on both accounts. Best of luck to him....future hall of famer

Good to keep Shaq and all the learning Luke provided.  Hopefully Shaq can pass it on to Isiah Simmons.

We have shared countless memories together both on the field and away from it. I feel honored to be his friend and I'll always appreciate the impact he has had on my life. Love you buddy.''

Said former Panthers coach Ron Rivera, now with Washington, in a text about the retirement of Luke Kuechly, 28: "One of the really good young men to play this game and I am proud to be able to say I got to coach to him.'' Rivera and GM Marty Hurney drafted Kuechly in 2012 out of Boston College.

Luke: $15m

Cam: $21m if we trade him; $19m to cut

Greg: $12m

That is about $46-8m. 

Cutting Poe would create almost $10m.

Add that to our $25m Cap room, we are looking at somewhere in the $80m range.

 

The last time Marty had that kind of cash, he overpaid for players from a 2-14 team.

Man, what a punch in the gut.

I don't blame him one but.  Go out on your own terms and live what life you have left.  I hope he's able to have a long, happy life!

I appreciate everything Luke has done for the team, and I will look forward to the day he is enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

I feel sad that he feels like he can't play up to NFL standards anymore. This 3-4 switch Rivera came up with killed him.
