I pick on baseball because it’s so slow moving the players literally talk to themselves to stay awake. Baseball movies are great because they boil the game down to the bits where something actually happens.

It is not, as they say, my cup of tea.

The MLB has been trying to win people with opinions of yours over by juicing the balls and making Home Runs common place ..

They are selling out, and not winning you guys over .. pathetic

Football is #1 for me but I have been coaching little league for the last 15 years and it has given me a new love and respect for baseball. It’s a very difficult game to master.

So is the Chinese board game Go. It does not, in my opinion, make for an exciting spectator event. But I applaud you for being involved in teaching young boys the many valuable lessons team sports has to offer. That is worthwhile whether I particularly want to watch the games or not.

I do a LOT of sports betting. Baseball is by far the most lucrative sport to bet on.

Before betting baseball, it was as boring as they come for me. But since I started seriously betting, baseball is the second most exciting sport to watch.

Having watched so much, I would genuinely enjoy it without betting now. It really is a chess match and you learn to appreciate it immensely

You know what would win me over? An old suggestion of George Carlin’s:

Pitcher hits the batter with the ball, batter’s out.

You get a really good accurate pitcher in there, games over in half an hour and you can go watch something more violent.

You are someone who’s opinion I have come to respect, and I’m sure if I chose to invest the time, I would learn to appreciate it more. I just don’t bet and have a hard time finding baseball appealing as a fan. I played a few seasons as a kid but then moved onto things more suited to my high energy nature, like soccer and basketball.

I was the same. And it had an unfair advantage for me because betting can make anything somewhat interesting.

My point is, I get both sides. I was the same as you up until a few years ago but now I “get” the baseball crowds.

At least the team that got fuged over the hardest by this scandal was the yankees.

True, but now we have Cole so ... I'll allow it.

Cora could get the perma ban if the Red Sox also get punished like this.

EDIT ... oh you said "at least". Ok, I don't like you anymore, lol.

The game is so slow and the season is so long that even the players don’t watch all of the games.  I usually pick up watching games once the postseason hits.  This year was the fewest games I’ve ever watched of an MLB season.  I only watched the final game where the Nationals won.  No regular season and I kept forgetting to watch the postseason.  They would give the scores the next day and I’d be like “dang, I forgot that was on.”  Then I’d forget again the next night. LOL

Big baseball fan here. Watch a lot of games. One reason baseball is “dying” so to speak is that there aren’t any black American superstars that they can market. When I grew up I worshiped big leaguers like The Big Hurt, Jr, Andre Dawson, etc. There aren’t African American players like that in the big leagues now and it has hurt baseball in the inner cities. Another thing baseball needs to do but they never will is shorten the season. Yankees play the BoSox like 30 times. That’s way too much.

If they want to stop this BS in pro sports, have the cheating team forfeit the win to the opponent...it would never happen again.

But the NFL wouldn't do it because they only give out hand slaps as punishment.

It’s like that everywhere. Do you think the NCAA is going to hammer Kansas for their 3 or 4 Level 1 infractions for blatant cheating? It will be interesting to see what happens to NCState because they are due up first and the NCAA takes it easy on them you’d think Kansas and Zona skate.
