Learning from the Titans

lightsout

I'd caution against drawing too many conclusions from the Titans run. This post season is looking like an outlier. Don't chase the outliers.

@fbgchase: The power running game appears back en vogue.

In 3 of 6 playoff games so far, one team has rushed on 69% or more of plays.

Happened in just 3 playoff games total from 2002 to 2018.

And there hadn't been an NFL postseason with 3 such games sine 1974. https://twitter.com/fbgchase/status/1216368755397271554/photo/1

Understand something: I'm not hyping up the Titans as some new power team in the AFC, let alone the NFL at large. I'm just saying that they have won this year and here's a few good reasons why. It's the formula for any team (or should be, IMO). Hence why I think it's of interest to us Panthers fans. The Plan works and we have failed in those areas more often than we succeeded this season. Titans may fall off and not compete for another 5 years, fine. But this season, they fit my message in the OP. Find any other wild card team that ever advanced to the Conference Championship game, can probably say the same for them.
