I get he's a good, versatile D-lineman BUT,  the OL has greater deficiencies.  If the OL wasn't a complete train wreck, I'd be in favor of Brown.  I can't justify it right now.

You will get your wish more than likely because Hurney never drafts the guys I like and he's not going to give up on his two young tackles from last draft no matter how pedestrian they looked.

But why have it one way, a center with our second pick and you have a good chance of landing a franchise guy. You can also land good guards later in the draft, it just seems to be the tackle position that is pesky. If you get Brown he goes so far to fix the D then I'm all for turning our attention to the oline. If dayley nor little improves, I'd be more down to take a OT again next year or best case scenario honestly an actual proven FA.

What switch? We probably played 4 down linemen 90% of the time. We just tried to run a 4-3 with 3-4 DEs playing OLB and then all our DTs got hurt.

Due to injuries the scheme never took hold like it was supposed to, but no denying the intent was there and drafting/acquiring FAs to that end.  The good thing is most of the FAs were one-year deals and I think Burns can continue to add a little weight to make an effective 4-3 end.  Hanyes and possibly Miller being the two guys lost in the experiment.

Anyway, it's hard to argue with essentially the same defensive personnel as the year prior, that the attempt to change schemes backfired greatly.  While there were key injuries, the contrast was too great from season-to-season.

Rivera wanted QB pressures and sacks, he got them, but at the expense of exposing the back 7.  Again, COMMIT to going back to a base 4-3 and I think things will get better.

You are assuming Brown will be as effective as he is in college.  You are putting more stock in him being a 'sure thing' than an OL candidate.  That's your bias kicking in.  In your mind, why even take a chance, right?  It's clear you have picked your guy for April and are prepared to pound the drum for him.  I am still deciding which player I want and yes, Brown is one of them, but not my top guy right now.

I'm just going off what is being said right now, no one really should even have a for sure guy picked yet. Draft night Brown might not even make it to us or his combine #s might not work out. Im not assuming anything, everything i say has a reason behind it, most of the time I play the odds. Ain't no biased to it, in general guys like him if they do turn up in the combine and have high character, dont bust out. There sure as hell ain't no sure thing, but one thing I'll give to Hurney if he pulls the trigger in the first it's about as close as you can get. Look at OT draft history,  their first year grades, and then tell me what they tell ya. There's been one OT in the last 5 to 10 years i felt was most likely gonna pan out and that was Lane Johnson because of his athleticism, and he just passed the eye test, if memory serves that year 2 out of what 6 OTs panned out in the first.

Actually earlier didn't you say OT HAD to be the pick? I ain't the one already decided bro, it's way to early for that.
