He has the same agent that Matt Rhule does.

Exactly. You think the agent that just got Rhule that is going to let his client work for a third of what he could get. At a job where his stock will never get higher. LSU would pay 2-3 M to keep him. Why sign for 1M?

Well either way, he comes out of this game with a large raise. It's just a question of who's paying him.

Voth sure makes it sound like that's going to be us.

Who knows? But I know they would have given him well over 2M the minute the Bama game ended.

Won’t be surprised if Tepper gives him $4M with Rhule making $10M.  Remember... Tepper wants dome and taxpayers paying for it.  He needs a winning product.  He can’t ask for $1 billion without a result.

It's worth a shot. Nothing else has got us a ring. Maybe we'll catch lightning in a bottle

There are pros and cons.

He's a smart young (in this case, really young; Newton is four months older) offensive mind and by all accounts he's made a huge difference in the LSU program. His pro experience is minimal, but he does have it and with a really good offensive system.

The concerns? He's very inexperienced, and as such, untested. How many one year wonder boys have we seen fail the test of time and consistency?

If he's the guy, and it sure sounds like he is, then I absolutely hope it works.
