Looks like Rhule may target Joe Brady for OC

If Rhule wants him, then yes, Tepper can absolutely pay for him.

Does Rhule really want him?

There's speculation, but we don't truly know.

Said elsewhere: If this ultimately was just Trace Armstrong trying to get his client a better deal, mission accomplished and we move on.

My guy, the NFL is changing. The days of pro style offenses are numbered. College offenses are being implemented more and more into the NFL every year. I’d much rather have Joe Brady than another Norv Turner

And Brady brought the college offense to LSU to from the Saints.

“The majority of stuff I brought is from New Orleans,” he says, but there are other schemes weaved in, including wrinkles from the Kansas City Chiefs."

I'll be perfectly honest guys. I get that he's a hot name, but if we don't choose to overpay for a guy who realistically isn't all that proven, I won't be that upset.

What’s overpaying? A million a year for an NFL OC isn’t that crazy these days.  Don’t really care about how much we pay them personally just that Rhule thinks he’s the right choice.

"We" are not paying anything. These salaries have zero affect on us.

I don't care what we pay coaches. That's one area where you can spend like a drunken sailor on shore leave with no repercussions. No salary cap on coaches and front office folks.

Depends. Did they pay a guy because he was genuinely worth it or just because he's a hot name?

If they get the right guy, I don't care how much it cost.

If they threw a lot of money at a guy who wasn't worth it, it's a sign they just might be stupid.

We've already had a long enough history of the team being run by stupid people. I'm not really up for another several years of that.

No one has a crystal ball. There's no way for anyone to know if any hire will be worth it until we have the benefit of knowing how the story plays out.

We already watched a McD story play out. He had to cheat to go 4-12. Well, the team ended up going 4-12. He got fired mid-season. For cheating. And sucking.

There is no overpay for a coach because there’s no cap and no budget outside of what the owner will pay. Other owners may want to keep prices low with a silent understanding but coach salaries are up to whoever will pay it. Whether it’s the right choice or not is up to the owner and other leadership. Time may show the coach didn’t succeed but you just move on and play again.
