Fellas,

One of the fellow coaches on the football staff I’m on was a rising senior at Temple back in 2013. He said that coach Rhule has had the same philosophy and attitude since he met him ~7 years ago. He’s told me stories about how he had to use some tough love to get the senior class to buy in.  He’s told me nothing but great stuff since we were in a clinic last winter with his OL coach

He told me coach Snow is the greatest defensive mind he’s been around. He learned more in that one season with Snow than he has with anyone else. This is a coworker and friend I wholeheartedly trust and believe that he says what he means. I think we found some special people with Rhule and (allegedly) Snow coming to Charlotte.

lies.

I don’t understand why everyone hates Snow before we even give him a chance. After watching Washington turn our defense into a flaming pile of poo, do you feel like Snow will make it worse????

I know right?  I mean how the hell can it be any worse.  He would have to show up drunk daily and sleep through every meeting to even compete with the utter embarrassment we witnessed last season.

There's a reason Phil Snow made it to 64 years old without ever being promoted to any role of prominence.   He's not some young kid who needed a chance to be discovered.

Rhule picked him up off the trash heap at 60.

Shows how he was viewed by his superiors in the dozens of other small time jobs he's held.  If he were a defensive mastermind, someone would have noticed it.

Starting to wonder if David Tepper had a stroke.

Bobo- do some research and don’t be such a hater out of the gate. Temple had the 11th ranked defense in the country in 2016. Temple! Who has been a dumpster fire for EVER before Rhule and Snow got there.

We’ve got nothing to lose here. Our defense under all seasoned “NFL” guys was hot garbage this year. It can’t get any worse and it’s very likely to get better. I’m excited about the new regime regardless if Snow is the DC or not.

Mythology that's been parroted far too many times now.

Al Golden turned Temple into a contender before he took a job at Miami.  Al Golden took Temple to multiple Bowl games (9-4, 8-4, 9-4), before Rhule.  Rhule, the slick talker that he is, somehow managed to convince everyone he 'turned around' a program that was already thriving under Al Golden.

Al Golden didn't get fired, he took a job at a much better school due to his sucess turning Temple around.  Amazing that Rhule has been allowed to steal credit for it.

You guys are some seriously superficial judges of people, aren't you?  To me, he does look a little like Aaron Rodgers -- but who should care HOW he looks.  It's his talent as a DC we should be caring about.

As to your comment about 64 being old -- how old do you think Wade is?

And to your last demeaning, yet solidly ignorant, judgments of him as a DC ("trash bin"??), I offer this:

Temple

Snow became the defensive coordinator at Temple in 2013 under head coach Matt Rhule, who had served as an assistant underneath Snow at UCLA.[3] After allowing 29.8 points per game in Snow's inaugural season, Temple's defense limited opponents to just 17.5 points per game in 2014, which was the fourth best mark in Division I.[4] For his efforts, Snow was nominated for the Broyles Award, given annually to the nation's best coordinator.[5]

In 2015, Snow's defense was once again one of the best in the nation. Temple limited opponents to just 20.1 points per game, the 17th-best mark in Division I, en route to a 10–4 season that saw the Owls defeat Penn State for the first time in 74 years and become nationally ranked for the first time since 1979.[6] The Owls also ranked 20th in Total Defense.[7] Following the regular season, Snow was once again nominated for the Broyles Award.[8]

So, somebody did notice.  Sadly, just not you.

We mocked Rivera for poaching the entire Panthers coaching staff out of 'loyalty', but at least these were proven NFL guys.

It seems like we hired Rivera's dumber, fat cousin (from his analytically illiterate belief that you win by 'running the ball and stopping the run', to his obstinate belief in rewarding 'loyalty').  So we'll see how it goes trying to win in the NFL with a bunch of his Baylor cronies.

It doesnt seem like that at all...

Impossible.

if you win then the coordinators go on to promotions, if not they get fired. If you don’t fire them, you get fired.

im sure there has to be clauses for underperformance etc in the contract.

Unless I'm mistaken they can be dismissed without cause anytime regardless if the contract amount is guaranteed or not.
