David Tepper: "Sometimes you have to tear things down to build them up"

From an age standpoint, Luke isn't too far behind Cam and has equally concerning injury history with his concussions. Luke will be 29 this year and if there truly is a rebuild on the horizon, that would put him at around 31-32 years old once we return to relevance.... and then question marks as to what you do with CMC at that point with his contract expiring.

Hurney doesn't strike me as a chess player as much as Rhule is. Lots to figure out in the "process".

If the Carolina Panthers are truly committed to winning in the future then Kuechly, and even possibly McCaffrey will be considered for the trading block right along with Newton.

If you want to compete in the NFCS with the likes of Brees and Ryan you need an offensive line, and a quarterback. You just are not going to acquire that without significant assets.

We've heard so much lately about "emotional attachments" but the more you read about it the more it only seems to count for one particular player.

You guys do realize no one will support a team that goes 0-16 for three years, right?

You'll be the same ones whining about there being no crowd and us being irrelevant in ways far surpassing our present irrelevance.

Huddle in December 2019: I'm worried we might be like the Browns

Huddle in January 2020: I hope we're 3x as bad as the Browns ever were, so we can get draft picks

I feel like you don't firmly believe this, you just sort of want them gone to spite people who want Cam gone (don't start including me, research my posts if you need confirmation).

The problem is going to be that if we have a very good draft, and part ways with Newton, who’s playing QB? Allen? If so, he’s decent enough that it would screw up our draft position for the following year. However he could be a very good stopgap to build up other holes on the roster until we decide who we want to go after for a long-term quarterback situation. However  I was just really hoping that Newton would get one more shot. Seems unlikely now.

What'll be awesome is when we get that awesome offensive line, but we don't have a running back worth a poo. And we finally got another great QB, but our linebackers suck balls.

LBs and RBs are two of the least value added positions in football id love to trade those strengths into OL and QB.

We’ve already been torn down. Like most of our defense was on one year deals. We were essentially one of the absolute worst teams in the league. This past year was the tear down.

indeed - and in the context, it to me sounds a lot about culture / coaches / previous regime tear down, and less about 'SHIP EVERY DAMN PLAYER OUT HE DOOR ASAP'

all that said Cam may not be on the team next year... but IMO if he is healthy, barring a huge trade offer, he will be.

    • You go after my guy with nonsense like "I don't see quickness or explosiveness" and "I haven't seen a lot of quickness or full route tree ability that we always ignore" Then yea, I'm gonna punch back. Like I've said, if people want to draft someone else, that's totally fine, everyone has their own opinions.  But if you're going to advocate against a specific player, don't talk complete nonsense about their game like this. Even more so, don't do that when you're saying I'm the one with a bias towards him. If I was afraid of it looking like a bias pick on my part, I'd never have said I was an Arizona alumni when arguing for him, but I've admitted it from the very beginning, because I don't think my Arizona connection gives me a bias, it just means I know his game REALLY well as I've seen every snap of his college career.  So yea, you start saying the knocks on him are things that he's actually really good at, then you're going to get an earful from me with some video evidence to back it up. In the end, for me, it all falls back to how rare a player like T-Mac can be due to his size.  The smaller speedier type of WRs are exactly who you can find in later rounds and who become available as Free Agents, I can't ever get on board with taking a Hunter (as a WR) or Burden over T-Mac if all were on the board, for that reason alone, and I'd say that if he was a freaking Sun Devil, no matter how much it would hurt me to admit if it if that were the case.
