well that's disappointing as I'm pretty sure that means we will not be getting Wade Phillips since I think he's pretty much an exclusive 3-4 DC

He got benched later in the season. He still a rookie but it does look like NCfan and Linville were right about him.

He stared 3 games for Peters and was OK, then they moved him to the right side vs. Seattle and he wasn't good, so he was benched.

You don't say a rookie being asked to switch sides isn't going to fare well against Seattle?

I had questions about Burns' weight coming in, and his ability to be able to stay on the field, he couldn't stay on the field after his dumb injury, then he got injured again.  It could be Rivera's dog house for younger players, I'm just not convinced that he can hold the edge in a 43, and I thought we needed more help at Tackle last offseason than OLB.  Just my opinion.

yeah i think he ran a 3-4 in dallas as well. 

there are plenty of old coachy guys who could come in though

Please explain how a 240 DE cam play in a 4-3. Yes, if he is willing to play LB then fine, but he can’t play DE in that scheme.

true, but i really liked the idea of him coming in to help Rhule learn the ropes of being an NFL HC as well as just being an elite DC at the same time.

I think more than anything we will be multiple, and considering the amount of 3 receiver sets run by most teams it'll be 4 down anyway due to Nickel sets. Think people get a little too caught up at times on the 4-3 vs 3-4 talk, it makes way more sense to be fluid and not really married to either or. 

I am interested to see how it all comes together.
