Matt Rhule could be our Jimmy Johnson moment.

So are we getting the Herschel Walker trade, then spending two 1st overall picks on QBs in the same year? LOL

- For those not aware, the Cowboys used the 1st overall pick on Troy Aikman in the 1989 draft and then a few months later used a 1st round pick in the 1989 supplemental draft to take Steve Walsh.  That pick ended up being the #1 overall pick in the 1990 draft.

Rhule's first years have been bad. We go 1-15, and draft Lawrence.

Edit to say: I don't WANT this to happen, just saying it COULD happen this way.

I like the guy. I was reserved before, simply because I didn't know enough of him to even have an opinion on the guy.

I like what the man stands for, and his belief in building a winning culture.

Not sure why people don't like him, other than the ignorant fear of change.

Yes and so is Pete Carroll. Both of whom transitioned a decade ago. We went through that...

Pete Carroll wasn't really a "college coach."  He was more of an NFL guy who did some time in college.  By the time Carroll got the USC gig, he had spent the previous 15 years in the NFL...including 2 head coaching gigs (Jets and Patriots).

I'm all in with Rhule and hope its a JJ harbaugh Carroll moment and NOT a  Chip Kelly (that's my fear)

And here's part of the difference...

...Carroll and Harbaugh both had tons of experience in the NFL.  Carroll as a coach and Harbaugh as a player.  Chip had zero experience.  Not as a coach and not as a player.  One slightly promising thing if Chip Kelly is the reference point is that Chip didn't really flame out until he got to the 49ers.  He put up back to back 10-6 seasons to start with the Eagles, then turned in a 7-9 season (6-9 technically) when the Eagles decided to fire him.
