Well, given that Shurmur was "his guy" and he failed so spectacularly(not in the least because Gettleman gutted his roster) and that Gettleman himself is on the hot seat, I'd be willing to bet Gettleman didn't have nearly as much say in this process as the previous one.

Gettleman haters. And not people that think he did a bad job and are glad he’s gone, that’s almost all of us, but some are STILL upset he let go of their beloved SS, and like, really, really, in an unhealthy way hate the guy.
