The only mention I've seen of him came from David Newton. I still find it believable, but I haven't seen anything else and Newton can be off sometimes.

The only person I know they've interviewed is Pat Flaherty but it feels like if you were going to get the job, he'd have had it already.

Not sure if this holds a ton of weight, but it's interesting. If it's on point, Flaherty's lines tend to do well in not allowing sacks compared to the rest of the league, but they also don't run block well.

Cedric Whitaker also was with Rhule at Baylor before becoming cornerbacks coach at Houston Baptist University.

@DavidSmoak

reported last week that Evan Cooper will be CB Coach, Whitaker will be more help in the secondary.

Maybe depends on what you consider a healthy mix? This is a quick count so I may be missing somebody, but I'm counting 2 NFL guys (3 if you count Matt Lombardi, but he's pretty green), with maybe 3 more likely to be added.  So a little less than a third of the staff will have any real NFL experience to speak of (guys who spent one-two years as low level NFL assistants but primarily coached college I'm not counting as "NFL guys").

No connections to Rhule or Brady that I've seen. Might have met him at the Senior Bowl.

Mind you, he would have worked alongside James Campen in Green Bay. Wonder if that means Campen is about to be hired too.

That'd leave only the QB Coach position unfilled.

He's linked to James Campen though. Makes me wonder if he's on board.

Also starting to wonder if Chris Snee - aka Coughlin's son in law - might end up on staff as an Assistant OL Coach (he doesn't have enough experience for the full time job).

Quick word on James Campen...

When you think of names like Brian Bulaga, David Bakhtiari, Corey Linsley, TJ Lang and others, this is the guy who coached them from 2007 through 2018. He was let go only because he was part of Mike McCarthy's staff.

Don't judge him by his year in Cleveland under Freddie Kitchens. This would be a solid hire.
