Mr. Scot

He just got to the Lions in 2019, and I’d assume he would have at least a 2 year deal.

Also worth noting that after Patricia being in danger of being fired himself, he wasn't necessarily all that tied to his existing staff.

I know they already let a few guys walk.

The Lions don’t have much of a history of blocking coaches from moving on to better positions.  Even when the guys names are Don Shula and Bill Belichick.

@Mr. Scot it looks like the Panthers will be holding onto Blackburn for the ST role.

https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2020/01/13/panthers-chase-blackburn-retain-report/?fbclid=IwAR21iP60dz-Cr99TAbaiZNXDRgB-htCN8FSr1oD6trb1fnho7mAS55VIS3w

However I'm not sure how official this is, doesn't seem like hes actually been offered the position yet. Just that hes been interviewed multiple times for it and all signs point to him being retained.

Yeah, saw that. He's citing Joe Person, who said the same thing.

I'm good with it. Blackburn did okay before things in general started declining.

Both guys have already been removed from Baylor's website, but here's a cache of their bios.

Sean Padden:

Quote

Sean Padden joined the Baylor football program in December 2016. He serves on head coach Matt Rhule’s staff as associate athletics director for football operations.

Prior to joining the Baylor staff, Padden spent 2015-16 at Temple as the Associate AD/chief of staff for director of athletics Pat Kraft and served as sport administrator for football after two seasons with the director of operations title.

Padden returned to collegiate football in 2013 after an eight-year stint in the corporate world. Prior to that he volunteered as the defensive line coach at Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill, Pa. during the 2012 season. He was a volunteer coach for the West Philly Tarheels youth football team from 2008-10.

Padden served as the defensive line coach at Fordham University during the 2002-2003 seasons, including a Patriot League championship in 2002. Prior to Fordham, Padden spent one season  on the Columbia staff in 2001 as the outside linebackers coach.

His coaching career began at Albright College, where Padden coached the defensive line for two seasons from 1997-98, working with Rhule who coached the linebackers in 1998. Padden moved to the University of Albany for two seasons, one as the defensive tackles coach and one as wide receivers coach.

A three-year letterman for Catholic University, Padden won the scout team player of the year award as a junior in 1995. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1997 and served as a student assistant for the Cardinals in 1996.

A Norristown, Pa., native, Padden earned a master’s degree in higher education administration from Albany in 2005.

Matthew Delgado:

Matthew Delgado joined the Baylor football staff in January 2017. After two seasons as director for football technology from 2017-18, he was promoted to director of football operations in June 2019.

Delgado moved to Baylor from Temple where he served as video coordinator on head coach Matt Rhule’s staff from 2014-16. In that capacity, he coordinated all practice and game tape for the coaching staff, broke down opponent film, oversaw the video library, and created video highlights for internal and external use.

Delgado joined the Owls after a three year stint with the University of New Hampshire where he was the director of video operations as well as their NFL/Pro liaison. Prior to his time at UNH, he worked in player personal and was responsible for video operations for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League.

The Cupertino, CA, native graduated from San Jose State in May of 2010 with a degree in communications. While at SJSU, Delgado got his start in football interning for the San Francisco 49ers where he worked on draft and other film evaluations for their football operations department. Delgado is married to the former Meghan Millar.

Sounds like Delgado will be the guy in charge of filming other team's practices :Eyes_Emoji_42x42:

Plus that LSU kid is running Saints O without Sean Payton and Breesus. And LSU is the most loaded team this year too.

LSU wasn't any better than Clemson talent wise. Clemson probably had more talent.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
