Kinda went back and snooped around him a bit.

He made at least 4+ billion while they were married, and he married really young.....so.....yea, he is either cutting a large check every month, or cut one REALLY large check a few years ago.

He was promoted to head of Goldman Sachs newly formed high yield department at some point in the later half of 1985 and got married the next year. That job was the first one in his career where he might have been making enough money to think about a pre nup. Given that he didn't come from money, but would have had professionial peers who made bank likely advising him to have a prenup, it's probably a coin flip as to whether he had one in place for his first marriage but if I had to bet I'd bet against.

Plus even if he had one, if the divorce wasn't super bitter, chances are if you're worth 11 billion, you don't want the mother of your children to go wanting. My guess is the ex isn't hurting. At the end of the day the pile of money is big enough that you can sneeze off six months worth of interest income as a divorce settlement and she's still set for life.

None of that matters much for football, but this is something worth thinking about, and helps put his fortune in perspective:

On 11 billion dollars, one needs to earn LESS than 2 percent return on investment in order to exceed the NFL's current salary cap. Really conservative instruments like money market accounts can get you this, and the notion that Tepper keeps his money in anything so conservative is amusing. Chances are his fortune earns multiples of the entire team salary cap every year.

Worrying about any cost associated with the team, like say the coaches salary, is laughably lacking in perspective on our owner's financial resources.

David Newton just cornered Rhule on the sidewalk and asked pointed Cam questions. He tried to dodge it, but finally said he hoped Cam would be here. That if he's here he certainly looks forward to working with him and knows he's getting one of the best QBs in the NFL.

He spoke about not being married to any particular style. Talked about running primarily power schemes at Temple and primarily spread schemes at Baylor based on the roster and talent available. He did say he'd love to just run old school power run concepts, but that really isn't what football is today.

So lemme get this straight. You're predicting the Carolina Panthers go 1-15 and the Washington Redskins win the Super Bowl.

ok

In fairness, he did not say what trophy.  Could be a participation trophy at a chili cook off.

Totally agree.  My hunch would say no pre-nup, just from where he came from and where he was at the time.

Had he been born with a silver spoon, I would guess there would have been one in place.

A few million per month for life likely had a nice ring to it.

If Cam is healthy, yes---you want him here if he is a coach.  The business side scares me--and Cam's age/health history. I think Rhule will develop a young QB regardless.  After his comments about Grier (taken out of context), I am curious to see what he does with the backups.

If you are rebuilding, and that seems more and more likely by the minute, the best course of action is to move Cam to a place of his choosing, if possible.  Luke should be looked at very closely as well.

He talked about some of the things he wanted to do and mentioned two guys he was excited to work with, those two guys being Cam and CMC.

I thought maybe the older guy who has nfl experience he was referring to hire might be Tom Coughlin

Quite possibly.  Coughlin would be a great resource.
