So what did we learn tonight?

Jale has been accused of tossing it up alot and people think it is a bad thing. I noticed that Brees did that last night. On a number of plays he just tossed it up for Colston and Henderson to go get. It worked well against Atlanta who don't really have very good corners who didn't fight for the ball. We don't have great corners but if they compete for the ball better than Atlanta did, we might get the better of them and get a few Ints. That isn't to say he can't throw an accurate ball because he can, just that he hates to get sacked or throw the ball away and will try and squeeze it in and hope for the best. We might be able to take advantage of that.

We learned that the team you pulled for lost. You were all over the Falcons on this one. Maybe next time....

Nah,

when the Falcons play New Orleans it is a win win no matter what. We might have a preference based on the win loss record or the divisional race, but no matter who loses, it is a good thing.

No, I'm specifically talking about KevinGreene....he was pulling so hard for the Falcons it's a joke. Why, I have no idea, you guys had the best thing happen to you last night, you could still catch them. Our 2nd half sched has something like a .348 winning percentage. If we can get past you guys this weekend, we can keep the train running...

I didn't really watch the game last night, but I noticed a play in which Brees just sort of lazily tossed the ball away, after which it got tipped and nearly intercepted.

The announcers had the nerve to call that a good play.

Yeah, Brees actually tosses up a good number of balls that defenders can make plays on. The Saint WR have done a good job making plays on them this year....but Brees is putting several up a game where opponents could take advantage of it.

You guys do remember that our rushing defense pretty much sucks, right? NO has what, the #3 rushing offense against our #24 rushing defense? They won't have to pass on us, because they will probably run through us. If we can't stop the run, their passing game is just going to be icing on the cake for them.

I think they will go to the passing game in order to try and run up a big lead. I don't see Thomas as having the necessary fortitude to carry a game and besides, he is ranked #20 among rushers. Whoop-tee-do.

Our defense is gonna step it up for various reasons and I see our D line starting to really come together.

I also think Breesus (lol) has an axe to grind because we stopped his record breaking attempt last year very handily.

All rankings aside, both teams usually come out swinging when we play. Anything can happen.

Either way, I see it as a low scoring dog fight and I hope nobody gets hurt.

Talk a big game now, but come january when u guys are 1 and done in the playoffs at least you can rest your head on the fact that you started 7-0.

Honestly, I wanted the Saints to win; Panthers gain some ground in the wild card race and the Saints coming off an emotional victory against the Falcons won't be prepared for an improving Panthers squad. Win-Win.

Thanks a lot Aints.

BTW- It's ridiculous how much better Reggie Bush is in Madden than in real life.

Southern Californian game designers maybe?

As for last night, I agree, I think the Aints did us a favor. If we had played them this week instead of Arizona, we would've be routed. But now we have game tape on a divisional foe...against a divisional foe. We will be killing it in the tape room all week...while the Aints walk around with their noses in the air in preperation for their "easy win" over Carolina.

Those numbers don't mean squat, especially in a rivalry game. The Panthers defense is getting better every week and they're only ranked so low because of those first 3 games when they didn't have a run stopping DT in the middle. They have a very good one now and he will be very very motivated to beat his old team.

I say again, I like our chances.

To your point, since the bye in the last 4 games we are averaging giving up 86 yards per game rushing. That would rank 4th behind denver and in front of the Ravens. By most measures our defense is playing better than the Saints. Even in categories where they have a big edge like interceptions with 16-8, we have a big edge in forced fumbles 10-5. The winner of this game will be the team that forces turnovers and limits their own. I wouldn't be surprised if Brees had a few picks this week if he tosses it up for grabs like he did against the Falcons.

Thanks for backing me up with the numbers. I was just going by what I've seen with my own eyes.
