Said it elsewhere: I'm hoping this works out, but if we heard that Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones had just thrown 70 million at a "big name" college coach with no NFL experience, we'd all be laughing our asses off.

I agree, that money nuked all former college coach deals. Plus a reported 6 million buyout. I do not care about Teppers billions, that amount of cash thrown at a college coach is VERY shocking. 7 years too, thats unheard of too.

um he wouldnt be on the phone if they flew out to his house

This was today I’m guessing. They flew to meet with him yesterday. Also very possible it’s just a setup specifically for social media but doesn’t really matter,

People have long considered Mark Davis a horrible owner and laughed their asses off at the Gruden deal. What he did this year in just year 2 after blowing it up was really amazing. And they lost some young studs early in the year to injury and still have several early picks this year to add to their young core. Look to be in great shape going forward in Vegas. Don’t be so quick to judge big moves like this, either positively or negatively.

I'm not.

I don't really know how to feel about this, and it's gonna take a few years to know whether it was right or not.

Well, JJ did win multiple Super Bowls with college coaches.....

The guys on PTI just mentioned Snyder when talking about Tepper tossing around money and hearing him speak ...

You’re entire time is one of dismay let’s not ignore the tone of the post just because the words don’t explicitly say “I don’t like it”

That's because Snyder and Jones both have established histories as terrible businessmen, who started out with big loans from daddy/the Teamsters, etc., etc.. Tepper has made bold, but thoughtfully researched decisions his entire career.

Wants to be seen on social media. Like this “the call that sealed the deal.“ he needs to chill. This is coming across as amateur hour.

i do like where his head is at as far as where he wants to take the team to modernity. But he’s coming across like he wants to be a personality or big name in the owners circle. That’s not for me from an owners standpoint.

You said it already- social media. I do not care for it either, but millions of "others" do.

Welcome to 2020, can confirmed this sucks being a old soul living in this era.

Unless we win it all this year...

Side note: how would you feel about trading some of our young pieces for more draft ammunition (in Tunsil/Ramsey/Mack type deals) and essentially deliberately rebuilding and tanking this year to get Trevor Lawrence first overall and have Rhule start completely from scratch? Many don’t remember, but Jimmy Johnson coming from college went 1-15 his first year as HC...

Personally, my preference is Cam showing that he’s healthy and still an elite QB this year and we compete this year, but of course that is highly questionable at best.

Alright I was going to ask earlier but decided against it but since you brought up the Raiders I’ll ask it...

It’s obvious we’re going full rebuild. Cam won’t be back. Change is coming. If we want to be players for that top pick next year for Lawrence then they might want to at the very least discuss McCaffrey’s future.

McCaffrey’s value is never going to be higher than it is now given the season he just add combined with the fact he’s on his rookie deal.

Having McCaffrey would obviously make life easier for any young QB we have next season or this. However if the plan is to low key tank this season then what we may get back for McCaffery could be more beneficial towards the bigger picture here.

Won’t be popular much like the Cam decision coming but it should at the very least be discussed imo

I think we're gonna be rebuilding for at least a year or two anyway. And Rhule will take some time to learn about coaching in the NFL. So if we decide to build for the future, I won't be too worried about it.

I've said already I think people are gonna need to be patient about this, but I won't be surprised if people are screaming after one or two bad seasons.

Heck, Tepper was talking about possibly needing five years to build a winner. I don't know that it would necessarily take that long, but I don't think anybody should bet money on any sort of quick turnaround.
