I think his ability to call plays that a scared witless rookie qb with no protection ignored in favor of dumping off to the best rb dump off option in football was better than most, but then I might just be a homer.

I wonder what those plays were?

They must have been really good if Ron hired him.

Well he DID use Curtis Samuel as a RB for like a game and a half.  That was fun.

Ron is essentially creating an experiment in DC that we can all observe over the next few years:

How good is Ron without Marty Hurney as his manager?

I'll be watching with interest.

Do you remember that Dave Gettleman was the GM here in Carolina for 3 years under Ron?  If I recall, he did pretty damn well.

Back to back winning seasons good?

Superbowl good?

I will be hoping he beats the other NFC south teams, and Dallas.  Other than that, I will only be mildly interested.

Both our previous Head Coaches have had their best seasons working with GMs not named Marty Hurney.

If Ron does it again in DC that will be three times that has happened.

3 times is a trend.

Ron likely needed to do what McCarthy (apparently) did and take a year and really self evaluate.

Instead, he signed the divorce papers, and immediately flew to Vegas to marry his secretary from his travel agency business.
